How to get around Spider-man RCE

RockyWilcox (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 7th November 2002, 03:28

This may have been put up before. I`ve checked the older threads and i couldn`t see anything.

Ok, i have a toshiba SD100 E DVD player that i had chipped costing me £60.
The first time i knew of RCE was when i tried to watch Charlies Angels.
I found out of course that if you want to watch the film/extras, you have to press Title/Chapter button and press (usually) Title:1 Chapter1 for the film. etc etc. When i ordered spider-man i knew it was RCE but i wanted it that bad i didn`t care. So i put it in my DVD player and i try the Title/Chapter button..... and nothing. At this point i`m angry i thought they had found a way of stopping us completely.
Until i pressed the memory button.
Using it the same as the Title/Chapter button except when you get into the film press clear on your remote or after the first chapter ends it will turn off. You can still access the menu. and the factoids and fact track. It just takes you longer.
I don`t know what the point of RCE is, as i still get to watch the film and extras. Plus it didn`t put me off buying the DVD
If this has been put up before i apologise i did check though.

I have Toshiba 210 multi-region and I had to put a region 1 DVD (without RCE) in before it would play Spidey. Have you tried that?
