Sadly, A decision has been made to push back the release of MGM`s Escape from New York: Special Edition until December of 2003, rather than January as had been reported by director John Carpenter recently.

looks like it might be where the thread starter got the info. Also, they are making/have made some sort of behind the scenes feature, the disc will feature a commentry that JC did a few years ago for the laser disc.
