Page 1 of Twin Peaks: Series 1

I have never watched any of Lynch`s TV show, and was wondering whether people would advise me getting the boxset that was released today, containing episodes 1-7 plus a selection of extras. Play are doing it for £38.99 delivered.
It was an excellent series when it was first shown on BBC2, wierd, addictive, and loads of wacky characters and instantly quotable lines.
However nearly £40 for only 7 episodes is a complete rip off - it doesn`t even contain the pilot episode ( I don`t think anyway ).
I will just stick to my off air tapes from BBC2 and then wait for all the disappointed people to advertise theirs on eBay cheaper .
Cheers,
Mikeyb
I had a look at the region 2 box set and it does contain the pilot, I think its only on region 1 that it doesn`t contain it for some strange reason.

Play say it does contain the pilot - does that change people`s views of the £40 price tag?
My advice would be to buy the feature-length pilot (which is excellent, and I believe is available on Region 1) and `Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me` the prequel, this IMHO is the best of Twin Peaks, as both are directed by Lynch himself and contain all his trademark creepiness and atmosphere.
The series was a little patchy and while containing some good moments, did get a bit silly sometimes.
I think Lynch only directed a couple of episodes in the series.

RE: Twin Peaks: Series 1
Season 1 was excellent. It was only during the longer second season that things got a little patchy.
How many series were there? I think I will go for the first series boxset, probably get the subsequent series, and maybe get "Fire Walk With Me" at a later date. BTW - why did FWWM get an 18 and the first series get a 15?
Anyone know whether the pilot on this boxset is the same version as the Region 0 disk, and as that originally transmitted with the rest of the series or whether it is the stand-alone cinema version?
`Twin Peaks` is the best TV show ever, bar absolutely NONE. The pilot episode is one and a half hours of the greatest television ever created. You should not be disappointed.
Don`t watch `FWWM` until you`ve seen both series - otherwise it will spoil it. `FWWM` got an `18` because it`s a lot, lot harsher and darker than the series ever was, I also think one of the scenes involves rape (don`t quote me on that though).
I really liked "Mulholland Drive", so will I like TP?
