Region 0

Logan123 (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 4th November 2002, 17:18

I have a Region 2 Toshiba (waiting for a hack - long time?) and I have seen a Region 0 DVD Box set of the Prisoner. The thing is it is advertised for a hell of a lot cheaper than Region 1 & Region 2 versions normally available.
Dumm questions.
1. Will my player play them? I think it should but is there something I don`t know about Region 0 disks.
2. Where is the catch?
Thanks

So-called "Region 0" discs are actually coded for all 6 regions - meaning they will work on any player regardless of region coding. So yes, you will be able to play them.

The reason that Prisoner box set is a lot cheaper is that it`s an Australian edition. Aussie DVDs are always cheaper, because the exchange rate is very favourable. No catch.

Mike
Thanks for that. Last point. Is the transfer quality as good as the UK or US versions. I have heard that the transfer of the Prisoner on to DVD is not as good as hoped.
