Pausing a dvd can sometimes lead to bad lip sync. Also depending on the quality of your dvd player, the better the quality the less likely it is to get lip sync problems. With computer dvd-drives this can happen alot depending on your decoder. Stopping the dvd is probably the best way to sort the problem out. I occasionally get lip sync problems and I do the same. You may want to try changing a few setup configurations on your dvd player, your controller should have a setup button of some sort, just fiddle around and experiment.

There can be problem disks for lip sync, there can be problem players for lip sync but you say that most of your disks suffer along with four differant players. There must be a wierd common cause somewhere because players with lip sync problems are usually cured with a software upgrade but I don`t remember any of your players being mentioned in the forums with regard to lip sync. Is someone in the house a heavy smoker or do you have a big set of loud speakers shaking your players? One last thing is it definatly DVD`s and not VCD`s that are the problem and how many disks have the problem.

Steve,
thanks for the reply,
i do have all the dvd players setup to sound systems, and on quite loud
no one smokes here.
the thomson dvd player is great no big problems with lipsync, and the 2 times it has happend it went back to normale in about 20 seconds
maybe i should tune the sound down a bit?
thanks
Paddy
