Aldi are selling the above for £99.99 from Thursday 4th. Don`t know much about it but plays DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-CD Disks, and DD/DTS compatible. Roger.

Toys R Us have been selling it a bit cheaper than that since before christmas.

Not a bad player... shame it doesnt play VCDs.

Keen to know what this is like as I`m trying to get my brother to get a DVD player and he`s a bit of a tight-wad. Also says it has a 4:3/16:9 option. Does this mean if you`ve got a `normal` telly you can either have black bars or have full frame with the sides chopped off??

I bought one of these for £99.99 from Toys R Us and also bought the Packard Bell 5.1 speakers for £59.99 from PC World. So for £160.00 I got a perfectly functioning (albeit v cheap) home cinema system.

Is this multiregion from the box as it seems ideal as a second player for the bedroom?

Just bought one from Aldi this player plays everything including vcd`s the multiregion hack is on the hack page, plays rce disks as well, bloody excellent.

can you disable macro on it though ?

don`t know? don`t need it so i haven`t tried. sorry

HAVE JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THESE FROM ALDI TODAY
AND TRIED EVERY FORMAT AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS
VCD ORIGINAL PLAYS AND SO DO BACKUPS
