Page 1 of Acer Aspire Revo mini desktop PC, price drop

There`s a thread on here somewhere about Play.com selling a Acer Aspire Revo mini Desktop PC.
I would have posted this in that thread, but I can`t find it!

Anyway, its a very small, low powered mini PC.
It can be fitted onto the wall mount on a LCD TV.

Play were selling them for around £300 for the top spec model with games & wireless keyboard & games controller.

I got an e-mail from e-buyer saying they are now selling this for £229.60
I no longer have any need for such a machine, but it seems like a good deal if you are in the market for this kind of PC.

This is the one at Play.com, but that one has a wired keyboard, but they have better pictures on the unit.

I still wouldn`t touch them till they get the Atom 330 CPUs at least.

Guess it depends what you want it for.
Media playback, web surfing, basic stuff, it looks okay for the price.
I`d rather it had windows 7 pre loaded, but looks like you can get windows 7 from Acer

This may have been the one they reviewed on Gadget Show a few weeks back. It came out top against the other mini desktops iirc and seemed pretty decent despite it`s seemingly weedy spec. Lot quicker than a comparable netbook and played hd material faultlessly. I`d defo consider it as a really neat media server with an hd telly.

Looks like a good product for the price, but I wouldn`t buy from Ebuyer if you value your bank account. They emptied mine of £800 last time I used them. Someone bent working there processing payments. They use your payment details, with mine they made two transactions to a gambling site about 10 mins apart totalling around £800. A search on Google found lots of similar incidents.

I`ve never used them since (got the money bank eventually through bank fraud dep`t). AVOID.
