NEW 12 months free handsets: N72, 5500, Z710i, E870, E900 + more...
EDIT (23/02/2003): the range of offers listed in this post have been growing ever since I first posted this info - I have now taken the decision to maintain a table of these offers elsewhere for ease of reference (rather than having to wade through addendum after addendum) - if you`re interested, you can find details of where this table can be found further down this thread
Hi Guys,
I don`t get the chance to pass info your way as often as I would like these days as I`m just soooo busy desperately trying to keep my website up to date. However, whenever a major event happens in the cashback contracts arena I feel it`s worth putting some effort in to let you guys know about it...so here it is:
For a long while now, the zero cost contract mobile phone landscape has been a little stale, involving largely the same set of handsets coupled with various networks and tariffs. Well, it looks like everything`s about to change (and about time too!) as Phonebox Direct and Cool New Mobile launch the first salvo by releasing a whole new wave of zero cost deals on Vodafone with a wide range of mid- & high-end handsets never before seen at this price-point. This is by far the largest release of new handsets onto the zero cost scene in over 6 months.
If my gut instinct is right, this is bound to be followed by similar zero cost offers from other retailers, possibly on networks other than Vodafone, so watch this space.

addendum (21/02/2007):
No sooner had I suggested that others would follow than two more retailers have entered the fray with zero cost offers involving new handsets, this time on T-Mobile & Orange:
key:
MOUT=The Mobile Outlet
BMP= Buy Mobile Phones
TMobile Flext 35
Nokia 7373 (pink) - MOUT
Samsung D600 (standard & chrome) - MOUT
Samsung D800 (white) - MOUT
Orange (available on a wide range of tariffs)
Samsung X820 - MOUT & BMP
Samsung E900 (standard & pink) - BMP
Nokia 5300 - MOUT & BMP
In particular, the 7373 offer from The Mobile Outlet is the first time that the 7373 has appeared on the zero cost list for any network.
All of the following deals are on Vodafone`s 12 months Anytime 500 + 250 texts tariff (500 minutes & 250 texts for £35 per month) and the cashback is claimable in 5 parts after 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12 months.
The new handsets on offer fall into one of two camps:
(1) those handsets that have never before been available at zero cost on any network. I shall label these as NEW TO ALL NETWORKS.
(2) those handsets that have been available at zero cost before on other networks but not yet on Vodafone. I shall label these as NEW TO VODAFONE.

Good of you to put the effort in & ta for the heads up...Are you aware of what kind of contracts the new SONYs will be on? I`m thinking of the W880 & the K810i specifically & the Nokia 6300. Look forward to hearing from you soon & ta again for this info`.

Hi Flyer,
As the premise of my site is to identify the best value for money amongst the sea of mobile offers available online I wouldn`t expect to see any of these handsets on my site for some time.
However, I`ve done a bit of research for you and it seems that the only handset that is currently available from the ones that you mention is the W880i - it is currently available for pre-order at E2Save & OSPS on O2 only and the cheapest minimum term cost is currently £480. (on O2 250 with a handset cost £120) - unless you have more money than sense and really have to have the latest handset as soon as it is released I would recommend waiting 3-6 months.
If you`re patient enough, you could save yourself in excess of £200 as the handset will eventually come down in price and possibly even begin to attract a certain level of cashback on lower-priced 12 month contracts.

Hi Reestit, thanks very much again for taking the time to look for me. According to people who know me , I have just as much sense as I have money & I`m constantly skint so read into that what you will! I can wait till they come down to "real" prices. Ta again for your help & good luck with the site mate... :)

No sooner had I suggested that other retailers would follow suit that The Mobile Outlet and Buy Mobile Phones have entered the fray. Details of their new zero cost offers have been added to the original post.

The Mobile Outlet
What sort of reputation do this lot have? Are they likely to try and wriggle out of cashbacks etc.?
RE: NEW 12 months free handsets: N72, 5500, Z710i, E870, E900 + more...
go over to the MSE forum. theres a lot of people -including me- who had probs with mobile outlet. some people get there probs sorted as mobile outlet post there too.
main points of disatisfaction are 14 days to query anything regarding cashback = then no help after that. AND if u dont meet the requirements to the letter - then no cashback.
I`d say avoid unless u can send out invoices and the like on time.
oh, also - they only give u 21days from the date on the mobile invoice rather than 30 days that others do. this is a BIG disadvantage to u as it means u have about 2 weeks to send off all info.

Yeah always check the small print on the cashback claims.
The one I`m on at the moment has things like if you send the wrong bill we will automatically cancel all other cashbacks, if you state the wrong amount £25 charge, if you miss any cashback claims all future cashback claims will be invalid.
Basically what I`ve done is phoned up checking how much to put on each cashback form and actually wrote on the form next to it "per my telephone conversation with one of your employees on ......) and then sent them recorded delivery, only costs about 30p extra so worth it to save any future hassle.

Welcome back again Reestit Mutton. :)
Just got back from a mini break with the family and thought it`s about time I changed my mobile phone contract/s. Looking to upgrade/chance my contracts of last 2years (2 phones £15pm each and 100 free mins anytime with Vodafone. Used to have lots of free extras, but now I get charged for them :( so not such a good deal after all . Also looking for newer phones.
It`s good to see you back with some offers. I`ll go and check your site out - better still will add it to my favourite links :).
Cheers Niteowl

Yet more new handset offers with 12 months free line rental from Phonebox Direct, Cool New Mobile, The Mobile Outlet and Buy Mobile Phones has made the task of keeping this thread easy to follow much harder.
I have therefore decided to put together an easy to follow at-a-glance table of all the latest 12 months free line rental offers to hit the market for the very first time in the last few days - it`s on my website and you can find it at:

Sorry for not replicating it here...it would probably take me all weekend to format it as best as possible using the forum`s markup scheme (it`s already taken me the best part of a day to put together as it is). However, if anyone on this forum is gung-ho enough, I have absolutely no problem with you trying to do the honours for me.
