technosonic from woolies £399.00
:D this tv is an excellent buy, got mine friday after waiting for 4 weeks. but i must say that woolies replied to every email i sent them regarding how long it would be before my tv was in-store to be picked up and asking them to make sure it was a black tv, not silver.(they say they dont know what colours will come in and you get whatever!!) the picture on this tv is amazing especially the sport!! you can install it all automatically, just read the instruction booklet. 5 minutes and it was all up and running. you wont get another amazing lcd 32" hdmi ready tv at the price of £399.00. ANYWHERE!!! it was well worth waiting for. BUT, can someone please tell me what wall bracket to buy for this. ive bought one, but it must be wrong, cause this is supposed to go in middle of back of tv, but back of tv cover only has 4 vacant holes around the inner edge??? way to big a gap, do i take cover off tv to put bracket on. any help would be much appreciated

Hi, saw this in my local Woolies last week and must admit for the price the picture is excellent, almost worth buying as a second set at this price, looks great in the black.
I would think you would need a larger type adjustable wall bracket for this set due to the weight.

RE: technosonic from woolies £399.00
hi there, andy-m, ive just been on to b-tech suppliers via email asking exactly the same question. i already bought a bracket, but way out of proportion. was trying to get organised for tv coming. ive asked for some help as the dimensions for tv bracket are 600mm in length and 180mm in breadth, cant seem to find one :/
RE: technosonic from woolies £399.00
Are there any more of these floating around in the stores? I notice that both Tesco online and Woolies are showing stock as unavailable? Mind you Tesco have theirs for £449 :o
Cheers

Got them in Bristol, but I`d prefer a recognised name over these cheap jobs. I know this has had reasonable write-ups, but I`m gonna wait for the prices of Panasonics and Samsungs etc to start coming down.
RE: technosonic from woolies £399.00
It`s a badged Thompson TV
RE: technosonic from woolies £399.00
I know, but Thomson`s still aren`t as good as the Panasonics etc. Anyway, wasn`t that the old first batch? The newer ones seem to be different, at least according to an incredibly long thread I read on the AVForums. Couldn`t be arsed to read to the end though as it was so long.
Set seems to be ok for the £400 mark now, but give it a while until the 1080p sets arrive and the 720p sets will tumble. I did notice that a lot of the people on the AVForums were outputting to the set at 1080i, which surely means that the picture would be scaled? 720p would be the best option.
I might pop along to my local shop after work today and have a closer look for myself. I saw it yesterday but only gave it the once over, without checking for things like connectivity, picture modes etc. This one just seems short on picture modes like 14:9 and zoom (for non-anamorphic stuff). of course it`s hard to gauge image quality from s***ty composite signals in Woolies...

Ive seen an X360 running a few games on one of these and it would take the pepsi challenge with any most of the other HD tellys ive one run on.
For 400 notes, its a proper bargain. As chris said, im not sure they are rebadged anymore, but on the one I saw, the chap had literally peeled the technosonic badge off to reveal a thompson one underneath. For the money its a great gaming telly. Im not sure you would get massively long term value out of Blu-Ray or HD broadcasts, but it rocks the s*** for an Xbox.
What im listening to (if youre interested)

There is another thread on this. There I wrote:
"Mine arrived yesterday after a month`s nonsense from Woolworths.
You will find it is in and out of stock consistently as Woolies haven`t a clue as to what they are doing.
I am still fiddling with it. At the moment it is so-so. DVD is good after you alter lots of stuff. Standard TV is just awful but can be made presentable by more fiddling. Freeview is OK.
It is supposed to be amazing with games and as a computer monitor but haven`t gone that route.
It looks very good. Great to have an all black TV instead of this awful looking silver. Except thy made the stand silver, so it reflects. Nothing a matt paint job can`t fix.
The picture doesn`t look nearly as good as my CRT TV unfortunately.
I have the Thomson set-up booklet if anyone wants it. It is exactly the same as the one that comes with the TV.
It is a badged Thomson that sold for £999 (allegedly).
Forums on it here and here"
They are extremely long forum messages, but all the info you should need on brackets, set-up, etc are there somewhere.
I am still fiddling with it. Looks great in black as when the lights are off all you can see is the movie, except for the daft stand which is in silver (at the moment).
The Tescos one is different, supposedly not as good and looks awful.
This now means yours truly now has a 28" widescreen Philips to sell for £100 (must pick up).
PM me if you want the instruction manual. It is for the Thomson, but it is exactly the same manual, word for word, picture by picture of the Technosonic manual.

It has all that.

I happily peeled off mine to reveal a blank space. As mentioned above it is a Thomson in that the manual for them is exactly the manual for this one.
