Lidl Targa DP5100X Freezing Problem

Lordwoody (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 26th November 2005, 17:19

:(
Has anyone else had problems with this unit freezing up when playing DVDs after about 10 mins?
The unit is well ventilated and I have tried several DVDs and they all do the same.
I have turned off the Progressive scan function.

Please reply if you have any ideas what the problem might be.

Thanks
Lordwoody

Lordwoody,

Try posting this in the PCs & Mobiles Forum where you may get more responses, also maybe a better description of the fault condition may help (i.e. is it windows locking up etc)

sounds like a firmware problem.. download the latest firmware and install it...

I am having problems creating the folders to load the Firmware.

I have done it like this: 1g_dvd/firmware/upgrade/1g/Firmware_uk_low.iso
But its not working I keep getting a disc error when I put it in the DVD player.

Please help
Thanks

Lordwoody

The .iso file is a CD image file - you need to use some CD burning software e.g. Nero and use the option to `create a CD from image`

Just writing the file to a CD won`t work.

CD-RW should do fine.

But do I need to create a folder or do I just download the Firmware and copy it straight to a CD-RW as it is?
