One poster said "Mine arrived today,it`s already unlocked , tested on o2 vod and a different orange to that provided". However if yours is locked it sounds not that simple to unlock.

yes they are i now have sent for two and they are both unlocked and come with an orange sim card and i tried my 02 sim and it worked

This is not an area in which I have much experience - so please be patient....

O2 have just told me that they intend to switch off my old Philips C12 and discontinue the old `U` tariff that I`m on sometime in January - I assume that this will be for all dinosaurs and that they`re not just picking on me.

Can I simply take the SIM card from my C12, cut it down to size with a pair of scissors (no, there are no cut-outs on it) and drop it into the MYX2-2 and expect it to work? What would be carried across on the SIM card - the phone number? the credit? (I hope so, there`s over £15 on it) the contact numbers?

One or two hours hunting around using Google as my guide, I am led to believe that if, after all my O2 credit is used up, I subsequently want to switch the phone over to Orange - I may as well throw it away and buy a new one as the cost of unlocking it would be about the same price. Can anyone tell me otherwise?
