Page 1 of JVC DRM10 DVD recorder

If you`re looking for a decent quality DVD recorder, this is worth considering.

eBuyer were selling this for about £150 until about a month ago. Then down to £125 and now £99 (inc. VAT). It was originally £300 and although it`s a "graded" product the last 2 "graded" products I`ve bought (not from eBuyer), a Panasonic E55 and Sony 400 disc CD, have been perfect and with a full guarantee.

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

This looks very good. :) The only question is if there is a freely available multi region hack.

Doesn`t have RGB input though so those buying to record off Sky may be slightly disappointed with the picture quality through scart

OK Pardon my ignorance, but if I want to transfer my vast VHS archive to DVD, will this machine do the trick? I would appreciate any help!

Absolutely no problem. Scart to scart is easiest or scart to three phono (audio left, audio right and video).
I`ve done loads of archiving of both VHS and Beta using Panasonics and Liteons with similar connections to the JVC.

I have the DR-M1, which was the previous model. I can calm anyones fears who is interested in buying this recorder, the picture quality is outstanding. I have my JVC set to longplay (4 hours recording time) and I cannot tell the difference between live TV and offair recordings. At this price it`s a steal.

If it recorded +R/RW I would have been interested, but it does not.

I have loads of +R/RW discs since my Philips machine died and would like to keep the same format. May get the new Sony models that do both plus and minus. :D
