poor unit i couldnt give it enough praise at the start but 1 week in after using it changed that sent it back to maplins for a refund also the father in law sent his back to special reserve for a refund.Very noisey unit from the internal workings tacky remote that you need to be sat right over the unit for it to work and the clock gains time too its cheap and looks nice but id look about first ;)

Thanks for the original post. My MICO Espejo 311R (8months old) died without warning on Friday so this was perfect timing for a refund (£99) from Sainsbugs and pop to MAPLINS to get this little fella (£90 with voucher). I did take note of the comments regarding the noise of the unit and have to agree that it is noisier than most, however we have the TV loud in our house, so we can hear it (granted though it may be slightly annoying on quiet scary creepy films). Besides the DIVX playback the biggest boon for me was finding that UNLIKE the MICO this unit does not recognise Macrovision, which means I have been able to put all my old fave videos onto dvd.
One point to note though about the USB front port, it will only play JPG, WMA & MP3. I plugged a portable hard drive with divx files on it and it wouldn`t play them.
All in all very happy so far .....but I remain cautious as this is exactly what the last fella said !
