I`m new to this board so I don`t know if there are any cyclists amoungst you but if there are you`d do well to take advantage of this offer from Aldi. I was dubious for £3.99 but it has tons more features, and a better display, than my old Specialized one which cost £15. Spec includes:

Speedometer
Tripmeter
Odometer (with manual setting option)
Km/miles read-out
12/24 hour clock
Calories/fat burn monitor
Max/Min temperature
Auto on/off
Backlight
Colours: black, metallic silver, blue

plus other features such as trip timer, stopwatch, average speed with slower/faster indicator.

Welcome lordrobs. Picked one of these up before I saw your post and you`re right, it`s a great bit of kit to fiddle with on a bike ride.
