now correct me if im wrong but a native screen resolution of 852 by 480 is not high def.ok it might have the connectivity to hook up high def equipment but the screen cant display a truelly high def resolution.

I think you are right, but then again the Sony KE-P42M1 which has a list price of £2500 (you can get it for about £1424 on the net) has the same native resolution and they include no digital video input, be it HDMI or DVI. It can still display HDTV but the image must be down scaled.

No, that was a 32" LCD HDTV, some store still have stock of those. I was in Lowestoft yesterday and they still had one left £749.99
