RE: Aldi Pc back next week
It looks like a good price for the spec (Athlon 64 systems with no monitor/OS/keyboard/mouse/WLAN/TV cards are currently around 600 quid from white box suppliers) and I like the inclusion of both analogue and digital TV cards.
Big question though - with that much stuffed inside the box, will it be quiet or not? If you can hear it in any way, then one of its primary functions (PVR) would be ruined. I presume that "XL-Burner" means a DVD+/-RW writer?
Having said all that, the recent announcement of dual-core desktop Athlon and Intel chips for later in the year makes me wonder if I should sit on my hands for 6 months and wait for a setup that acts a lot closer to a real dual-CPU in terms of performance compared to the hyperthreaded poor-man`s version that this may well be.
an alternative is at certain Lidl`s - very similar spec
