My local Sainsbury`s have stacks of these......

Lodos 28inch Widescreen TV £159.99 (NTSC Scart Input)

Lodos products are often rebadged and sold by well known brands, and usually good value.

It`s a great TV. It`s actually an Hitachi rebadged (Even the manual looks like an Hitachi one!!).

Had one for 6 months and it`s been great-2 scarts and a third a/v input under a flap on the side (Nice touch, saves having spaghetti sticking out of the front!!)

Both sets (Lodos and Technosonic) are built by Vestel in Turkey, as is the Hitachi that was mentioned.
The same sets are also badged as Bush, Alba, Goodmans, Toshiba etc. Not a bad set, with a proven chassis, but do tend to suffer from power supply faults.

Be warned, when they go, they go BIG TIME!!

Yep, but the advantage the Lodos has over the Kwiksave model (If it`s the one I saw when I bought Lodos) is that it`s much better looking (OK ,maybe not THAT important, but it might be to your better half!!) -and AFAIK, if you want a stand, the Hitachi stands fit it

Don`t think for too long before buying the LODOS otherwise they will be gone. The quality of the picture is superb for the money.

LOL Yeah, I know exactly what you mean.

The company that I work for is responsible for the repairs on these sets (both Lodos and Technosonic), and we get a LOT of them!
When we repair them, we actually upgrade the power supply components so that they will last a bit longer than the standard components.

Help - a confused female!

I`m looking for a cheap TV as the hitachi I have is about to die. I did buy a Hitachi 28" widescreen from Comet Clearance, but when it arrived the tube was caput. Still trying to get an apology from Comet - but that`s another story.

Question - I have found a Goodmans, Beko and Lodos 28" widescreen all for £160 - which one do I get??

Or should I pay more for something else? Or less for a 20" Bush??
