The photo is of the same unit that was posted a couple of months ago - I bought one as a result of that posting.

It`s quite a good unit - uses standard fittings so took literally 10 minutes to install.

The performance is OK, a bit slow when you switch to CD (about 30 seconds) and the `Traffic` function often causes it to revert to CD when the broadcast has finished rather than the radio it was on before the broadcast.

Overall its good value.

Yes, my mistake, I was referring to an older posting than that, there was a different Shark player on here before that one.

Yes, that`s right, I got the older one, it was around this time last year (I got it for Xmas). This one is the newer model to it (not as nice looking I think), and now been reduced too...good bargain. My wife has just got a small car so I was thinking of getting her one for Xmas, but it would probably get nicked as it`s only going in a Fiesta (easliy broke into as me just fitting all new locks testifies...lol) :) , so might not bother.

Is it easy to install these in a car? I want one but am not sure how I go about replacing the radio cassette for one of these. Would Ford install them for a fee?

If it`s a fairly modern car it`s dead easy, took me about 10 minutes. The cable often just plugs straight in, if not there`s patch leads available from the likes of Halfords that matches your car wiring loom at one end, and the stardard radio wiring loom at the other. Just pick the right one for your car.

But you may not need one, mine plugged straight in. Just fit the cage, bend the tabs over to hold it in, and slide the radio into the cage.

Couldn`t agree more - my little 10 year old rover was dead easy to fit this to.

Standard connectors just plugged in and as Mark said, bend the tabs on the cage and in it went. 10 mins.

How quick is it to skim to halfway through a 2 hour long MP3 file I recorded off the radio ? I wouldnt want to hold down the fast forward for ages whilst trying to drive.

And how good is the anti-shock ?
