The Sims 2

I was eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel to `The Sims`, even though I hadn`t played the original. Anyway, I pre-ordered from MX2, who were the cheapest online retailer and since the game was released on a week ago last Friday I expected to get it by Wednesday. It didn`t come and I got an e-mail on Friday saying that they didn`t have stock and wouldn`t have for some time.

Decided that I couldn`t wait to order from another online shop, so went into town on Saturday and looked in GAME. Was £39.99 there which was a bit steep. Popped down the road to HMV and they had it for £34.99 which I thought was excellent, so took it to the desk and they guy started asking if I wanted to sign up for this new HVM Games card. I expected it to be some scam, but the guy assured me that I just had to sign it and it was free and I`d get 10% of the game! So, he swiped it and I ended up getting the game for £31.49!! Even cheaper than on Play.com! And this card is valid for any games in the future (until April).

So anyone looking for the Sims, or any other game, head down to HMV! (It works online too) :)

Cheaper at Amazon - £29.99 - it was £27.99 before release (when we ordered it), and I seem to recall it was £24.99 a while ago (but I didn`t preorder at that price - grrr).
It`s for my daughter.... honest!

If you`re a student, can you get an extra 10% off on top of that discount?

I`m not sure I didn`t try it since I`ve just officially stopped being a student and have joined the working world! Worth a try but I doubt it very much.

Patience - it`s not going to go up in price any more, and it will soon drop once the initial rush is over. Wait for it to come down.
