NEC`s ND-2500 is currently the world`s fastest DVD burner. The ND-2500 writes to DVDR at 8x speed (+R as well as -R) and writes DVDRW rewritables at 4x speed (+RW as well as -RW). An 8x writer is all well and good but what about 8x media...because a writer is able to write at 8x doesnt mean it will write at that speed on 4x media

Has anyone seen the minimum required system specification is for the NEC DVD writer anywhere on the web.

I am interested in getting a writer at some stage but am a little worried that that my PC may not be able to handle it. Cannot find minimum requirements anywhere.

As it`s a standard ATAPI device I think the drive will work in any spec PC, although you may find yourself limited to less than 8x burning speed if your PC is very low spec. I think that the software will determine the minimum spec rather than the hardware.
