Free PC but there is a catch!!!
Don`t know if anyone has seen this but this was over on the AV Forums
http://www.metronomy.com/
The catch is you have to reply to adverts every 20 mins when using the PC
PS you only get a 15 inch monitor as well
RE: Free PC but there is a catch!!!
I have very strong doubts that these `free` PCs will ever see the light of day... it just seems too far-fetched to me.
IIRC there was a scheme a while back which promised you a new car for something like £99, so long as you agreed to have the car painted with adverts. That never got off the ground either.

RE: Free PC but there is a catch!!!
my brother-in-law got a free pc on the agreement he answered a questionaire online once a month.
he did this for five months, then the company folded and he got to keep the pc.
he`s had it for about four years now and has never been asked to pay a penny.
some people get lucky
RE: Free PC but there is a catch!!!
This sounds like a horrible way of hooking in people who are vulnerable to advertising gimmicks and may click on even one link over the 3 yr period to be caught up & signed up up to something they neither need nor want and yet will have to pay for.
My advice is just don`t do it - go for a cheapish PC from a quality vendor like Dell where you get what you pay for, PCs have fallen so much recently in price that this free PC is likely to be worthless within 1 yr, yet you will be signed up for 3 yrs and therefore paying a hefty price.

RE: Free PC but there is a catch!!!
The free pc in exchange for online questionaire scam was suberbly executed. My brother in law applied when the machines were free. Looking around the net there were loads of fourms with success stories and as bogus as it seemed there were people like droogy`s brother in law getting free machines and many of them were shouting about it. My brother in law received a reply to his application saying that there was a shortage of the motherboards and processors suitable for the `free` machines but for £149 he could secure a better model with the questionaire still a requirement of purchase. Shortly after the cheque was cashed the company sunk without trace......
There is indeed no such thing as a free lunch!
