Popped in to the store in Stevenage and they had pallet loads !

Its small, no display, has scart phono and co-ax sokets on the rear. Didn`t get one as the muppets that work in the stor had no idea if it supported DVD-R. Ended up paying the extra fiver and got the Akura ADV13S out of Superdrug.

Proline for £30 in Comet and Richer sounds have one for £30 as well - Dixon Stores Group have been doing quite well with these headlines and selling out quickly.

Incidentally, I think it was an Apex or a Digitrex that they had up for the ridiculous price of £99 (no takers) and now they advertise it with £60 and £70 off - marvellous trick that.

Does anyone know whether the PROLINE 1050 that Comet are selling play VCD/SVCD?.

Proline - I would think so since the others do, like the 1040, do. However the Comet website says it won`t although it will do MP3. You could always ask to try in the shop. You would have thought it would have been advanced enough. Would have gone down the proline route some time ago but never did multi-region when I last checked.

Thanks for the reply, not to bothered about Multi-region as this will be for the folks. Can anyone confirm for definate?

I`m gonna buy one today (if any left ), here`s a link for proline machines it`s got a hack for the 1040 on it.
