Tazz, I think you`ll find theres VAT on the £14.95 - bringing up to £17.57 (to be exact) then you`ve got the monthly tarrif of £19.95 + vat taking it to £23.44 per month. As you say the deal also includes the 2 micro filters/modem/connection fee.
Remember you`ll also need extra micro filters for each phone socket in the house. It might be worth considering a firewall - see link I posted earlier http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=292&Thread=194135&Type=1
I was going to go with Eclipse but Pipex had good feedback and setup a lot cheaper than eclipse plus extra Web space incase I wanted to dabble in setting up a web page.

p.s. Dusty - funny thing was I spoke to BT for their deals to see if they wanted to match Pipex - the guy on the phone indirectly suggested pipex would be a better deal - as their rates were high and non-negotiable. Also the pipex rates have dropped in June were £99 for setup etc.

At the moment, if jou sign up and already have adsl, they will waive the fee you have to pay BT if you want to move from one ADSL service to another (saving £41).
I`ve been with PIPEX for well over a year now and have had no major problems, As far as I can remember I`ve had two outages, both turned out to be BTs fault and effected most ISPs so can`t really blame PIPEX for those. When there is a problem with the connection they tend to give you a dial up number so you don`t have to go without internet access, but you might have to ask for this, it depends who you speak to.
Mail servers were a bit dodgy a while back but that all seems to have been sorted now.
Also, As niteowl said, get a firewall. Lots of the personal ones are free and it will surprise you how many times you get scanned, even with a normal modem connection
