Techtronics have a terrible reputation and after being stung myself I certainly wouldn`t buy anything from them - however good the bargain is.

Of course, I`m sure there are plenty of people who have good things to say about them - I`m not one of them, buy with caution.

True a good bargain indeed, but with the imminent release of the davs s888 I would wait a little while.

Price should go down even more. Look what happened to the c770, its now £449 at richersounds.com

Without wanting to spoil the thread, the 880 is absolutely crap beyond everything i`d hoped for. The S550 manages to outshine it in a very embarassing way indeed.

Don`t let those big lanky speakers fool you, both those and the sub are as weak melted cheese, (!!!??).

Avoid, i hated it. Still, nice price...

Thanx Westy, why do so many people love it then. I thought it was 600W, isn`t that more than the s550. I think the speakers are getting to me on the s880.

Thanx for the advice though, but any other ideas on how to spend £600 on home cinema. I love my sound and want the best for £600. Will separates do the trick and manage to beat the s880.

Cheers m8

Assuming you need DVD player too, why not consider a Tosh 330 or 220 (around £100-£120) and the Acoustic Energy Aego P5 (£480).
Not a bad way to spend £600. Blow the Sony(s) away.

thanx for that ste, but sure I heard someone say that the aego5 is crap when it comes to playing cd`s, etc. Its the business for playing dvds, dvd-r`s, etc.

Any other suggestions from others.

It doesn`t `play` them as such - it`s a processor, active sub and 5 speakers. Look around at the various reviews to see how good it is. Certainly not crap. In fact see what Westy thinks of it here.. http://www.area450.com/homecinema/subsat3.htm
Don`t know what the Tosh is like for music though.

Thanx Ste,

Thanx for the link too, found another one
