Yup you read it right the new nine disk version out soon has a very cheap pre-order price at dvdsoon, has to be a mistake the original alien legacy is $10 more expensive, shipping is about $5 I think

and the new t2 extreme is only 10.65 on preorder too.

However, don`t DVD Soon take the money now on preorders as opposed on despatch? I`m always a bit wary of companies that do this

I believe they do and that they are very slow, but for that price I`ll take the risk if I can find it somewhere else that cheap I`ll just cancel the pre-order and get my money back

DVDSoon have got a lot better with their delivery times, if you take the Expediated option @ $4.98, people have been getting their orders in under a week.
On another forum, some people got HP&CS yesterday - after it was posted on Friday!

T2 Extreme works out at about £12.67 with delivery at today`s currency rates.

What are the customs duty implications for ordering the Alien Quadrilogy at about £35 with delivery?

I`ve never had any problem receiving dvd`s from DVDSOON, only thing to watch out for though - if you cancel an order I don`t think it goes back to your card it goes into your DVDSOON account so you can order something else

Personally I ALWAYS pre-order from DVDSOON just before the release dates of a movie, that way you get it within 7-10 days and it`s at a great price.

Just put a note in your diary to order it around 10 -14 days before it is due ( 17/06/03 is the Alien date ) that way the money is only out of your account for a couple of weeks and you don`t have to wait too long for delivery - why order now when the price will remain at the current level until the release date?

I would always expect a company to take the cash on pre-orders - otherwise they might end up ordering loads of stock in only for `customers` to cancel and then they`d be left with all the cancelled stock

What the hell is a Quadrilogy anyway? Surely it`s the Alien Quartet? Still, at £35 it might not be a bad bet, but I hate companies who charge you for pre-orders and I`ve heard that DVD-Soon have an ironic name (i.e. they take ages to deliver). Also heard that they may not be customs friendly. Any comments?

as for customs I`m not sure, however on the packaging they have the invoice amount marked, but in the bit that the customs refer to the price is marked in $CAD ( canadian )

ie: if the item came to say £30 UK then they would mark the customs part as $30 CAD, as the last 2 or 3 orders I received were for around £24 per package but the customs part was marked as $24 CAD

I would expect the Alien set to be marked as $32 CAD or thereabouts, mind you it is 9 discs so might be different esp as it will be a lot heavier than normal orders.

They also mark the packages as GIFT so that pushes the customs barrier up to £36 I think as opposed to the normal £18 for merchandise

hope that makes sense - note all these figures ARE approximate and I won`t guarantee that C&E won`t get you .........
