Epson Z55SE Printer 79.99 + p&p with £36 of free ink carts
I`d appreciate any comments or alternative suggestions, the bigger the bargain, the better ;)
....printers are often sold as `loss leaders`....always look at the price of replacement ink cartridges....that`s where the manufacturers are looking for a return.....I`ve been using compatible & refilling Epson 600 cartridges for over 5 years without any problems, which has saved me an absolute fortune.
RE: Cheap Printer Deal?
most printers nowadays only give you the colour cartridge with then meaning you have to spend even more money buying 1 talk about cut backs
EPSON Z55????
lol
As webryder points out, this is in fact a Lexmark.
Nothing wrong with the printer, but the replacement ink cartridges are VERY expensive. Best to stick with Epson printers if you want a real bargain... you can get cheap compatible cartridges (stick to Print-Rite or Jet-Tec) because the print head isn`t built in to the cartridge on Epsons.

I bought a canon i320 from www.insight.com/uk it was about £60 delivered.
Super quick draft quality printing. 2400x1200dpi colour printing for nice photo quality (slow though).
Small footprint.
Looks quite nice.
Quite flimsy though.
Replacement *original* canon carts are only about £6 for black £12 for colour.
Canon also sell (can`t find them elsewhere except on their site) 6x4 borderless photo paper. They guarantee print life on this paper for 25 years!
I`m very happy with it.
Don`t think for most people there is a HUGE difference in the quality of output between the different makes of inkjet printers. Stick with Epson, HP and Canon and you won`t go far wrong (even Lexmark printers are pretty good these days). Yes, there IS a difference, but unless you`re doing lots of very high resolution photo prints, you probably won`t notice the difference.
Where there is a big difference is in the running costs - for my Epson Photo 750, for example, I pay £4 for a colour cartridge and £2 for a black cartridge - quality is excellent.
Check the costs of replacement cartridges FIRST, then choose the printer!
RE: Cheap Printer Deal?
Well, if you`re not bothered about black and white, http://www.dabs.com have a Samsung ML4500 laser printer for £69 inc. VAT. The Quicklinx code (type it in at the top of the screen) is N8ZWS.
They also have the toner for £40 a shot too....
cheers for the response guys. "doh" on the epson lexmark error, but the site confused me :( thanks for the tip dell-gfx but i`m looking for a colour printer to print out camera piccys. My camera is only 2 mega pixel so does anyone know whether i really need a printer better than 1200x1200?
I have 3 Million Pixel Camera and my Epson 760 does not print as high as that but the quality is very good. As long as you stick with 6x4 and 7x5 prints as I dont think your camera is for bigger prints.
I read a good review of the Canon 330 and its only £59.99!! from Office World.

The one other bonus is it can use cheap compatible ink as well!
The Compatible Inks are:
BCI-24 Black - £2.69 & BCI-24 Colour - £3.99
