Went to Courts today in the Lakeside Retail Park, Thurrock
and they are closing down their electrical department.

Everything is half price.

We`re talking DVD players for £50
32" widescreens around £250
Hi-fi, videos all kinds of consumer goods

I picked up a Philips terrestrial digibox for £30
Just got to get the pesky aerial upgraded now.

The sale ends this Sunday and there`s not a lot of stuff left

how much is not much? I cant get to one until Friday because of the opening hours. Can i pay over the phone?

I don`t know if its at all branches, only Lakeside for certain,
and they had about thirty TVs, fifty or so DVD players
10 terrestrial digiboxes 30 or so mini hifi`s those kinds of numbers for all items. On the bright side, the shop was pretty empty and the stuff might stay there a day or two.

If it is a companywide policy, it may be worth checking other branches,
I really don`t know though.

Just looked at the website http://www.courts.co.uk but it won`t go to electrical goods. Just a message saying "this page is under construction" or words to that effect.

courts is the furniture place and powerhouse is their electrical bit. most powerhouses have closed down but some remain, such as lakeside, and they will be closing on sunday, hence much cheapness til then. im waiting for a call back from them to tell me which stores still have the powerhouse thing

Many Courts branches no longer have an electrical department - despite signage to the contrary.

woman called me back from head office. swore blind that all had been closed for months. i said `what about lakeside?` i could hear the smoke from her brain working overtime, on the other end of the phone.
