Kodak DX3900 3.1 Millon - £224.89

I saw an add in Saturdays Mirror paper today that they are doing 25% off on this camera and some other stuff.

Seems a good price for a 3.1 million pixel camera.

I have the 3700 which I got with the £100 offer but the 3900 is better as you get a timer and an optical zoom.

Listed as £299 on site but still look for info

Not a bad price for that spec, but my experiences with the DX3700 means I shan`t be buying another Kodak digital camera. It managed to suck the life out of two sets of alkaline batteries before I could fill one 32MB card, and that was with sparing use of the LCD.

Quote from the DX3700 user manual :

"we do not recommend or support alkaline batteries" (in bold type)

there is obviously no telling some people. :-)

I know very well that they don`t "recomend" alkaline batteries, but when the freshly charged NiMh batteries they supply last only around 10 minutes and you don`t have mains power handy to recharge them, your options are limited. IMO the power management on this model is it`s worst feature.

I have the Kodak 3700 and have had no problems with the batteries. If I remember correctly you had to charge the batteries when new for a full 24 hours which meant you had to keep replacing the camera in the docking station.

On a resent trip to Paris I took about 70 phots before the batteries died and I was using it with the screen on most of the time.
