RE: Whats happened to my Pulp Fiction disc?

Is it sticky? I used the cleaning cloth and spray for my specs to clean my DVD`s. Works a treat.

Alternative to Argos 3-way RGB

I bought a Madcatz RGB scart adapter from my local PCWorld the other day. It has 4 RGB scart sockets, it`s switchable, and the lead to the tv is built into it. It`s costs £20, so it`s more expensive than the argos model, the picture quality is excellent, definately RGB. Worth considering if you want more than 3 sockets, but don`t want to daisy-chain the argos blocks.

Here`s a link that will hopefully work, it`s very long so if it doesn`t work goto www.pcworld.co.uk and search for scart or try this link

RE: Cheapest Rocky Horror Picture Show R2?

HMV had it before christmas for around £10, it may be worth visiting a store to see if there any priced low still?

It was definately the digipack as remember thinking it had stayed in the digipack for ages, I haven`t seen any amaray versions.

RE: bush 2023

the first time i tried the goto trick, it worked no problem, and i wondered why everyone complained it was difficult to do. Ever since I have had great problems getting the timing right.

One method that I find always works probably isn`t very good for the machine. That is to use the hack to display the hidden meny (open the tray, press 2812 then enter), put the disk in and push the drawer in a bit until it closes itself, then press 1 or play i can`t remember.

RE: Bush 2023 Specifications

I read a review that stated it did, but when i bought one it didn`t. It had Scart, Co-ax digital out, composite video, left and right out.

RE: BUSH 2023 - pic prob??

I have a Goodmans 134 which is basically the same as the Bush 2023 (which I have also tried), I have a similar problem when my DVD player is set to output an NTSC signal (the same on the Bush 2023 I tried). Instead of a faint bright line, I get a dark line across the screen.

I ended up putting it down to the quality of the software on the DVD player, my previous players and consoles are okay.

I know this doesn`t help you, but at least it lets you know you aren`t alone. Let us know what the engineer says!

RE: Brilliant Sale At Whsmith

I`ve just bought A Beautiful Mind for £9.99 from one of my local smiths (the other branch didn`t have it priced up as half price).

Others may have it for that price, worth checking if you`re after it.

Howard the Duck?

Does anybody know if Howard the Duck has been released anywhere, or is due a release?

I love this film, buy haven`t seen it for years, I`ve no idea where my video has gone and a DVD release would be incredible (for me anyway!)

RE: Connecting DVD + SKY + Gamecube to TV.

I can recommend the scart switcher from argos, the one with big clunky buttons.

If you`re gamecube is a PAL one, then it doesn`t output an SVHS signal, this was scraped to give us RGB output I believe.

RE: Taping

If you`re player doesn`t let you disable macrovision, then you could buy or build a macrovision disabler. I had an Innovations catalogue delivered to my house, I remember that had a scart lead which removed macrovision but cost about £30.

I`ve just checked and they have a website also - www.innovations.co.uk, the catalogue number is MT6442. I may get one myself now!

RE: Colour "Blobs" on TV?? Any advice please.

I can still remember the day I found out putting magnets near my parents telly made it do wonderful things. I was reminded of it again today when I noticed a screwdriver was magnetised as I used to to point something out on a PC screen!

My dad used to go mad, I could never really figure out why. Now I`m grown up I can appreciate how he was feeling!!

My thomson does this aswell occasionally. It is even mentioned in the manual but I can`t remember their reasoning for it (magnetic something or other). I just switch it off and back on again.

RE: Which manual scart switch box?

I ended up buying item 535/0370 from argos, it has 3 inputs on it, and only works out 2 quid more expensive than the beyondhifi one.

You never know when you`ll get another device that needs a scart socket!

Which manual scart switch box?

Hi

I have been searching the old threads to find out which manual scart switch box to buy. I read that argos used to sell one for around £12 which was very good, but looking in the new catalogue they are now £9.75 - is one of these the same?

I would like one that is manual and supports RGB. Either from the high-street or off the net (UK) with 2 or 3 inputs to share with games consoles.

Thanks for any help.

RE: Terminator 2:Ultimate Edition - Region 2

Has anyone else heard of them dropping the seamless branching? I was really looking forward to this one and I don`t have a multiregion machine.

Hopefully it will be left in, The Abyss was directed by the same guy wasn`t it, and we had a branching one didn`t we?

Sharp 620 layer changes

I know that some players are better than others at layer changes, but does anyone else have any experience of the Sharp 620 and how it copes with them.

Sometimes mine pauses, plays and then pauses and plays again (sometimes 3 times), some discs are better than others, some viewings of the same disc are better than others.

Is it common to these players, or is it faulty?

Cheers

RE: Wanting to back up DVD`s

Cheers, I feel a lilttle better now! What other forums have you been looking at, is it as good as this?

-=BOMB3R=- what player(s) have you tried on?

X-Men R2 problems?

Does anyone elses X-Men R2 have problems with the menu? After the animation of the spherical room, four menu options appear in boxes, when the boxes appear it pauses for 3 or so seconds before the text appears. If I choose play then it plays an animation ofleaving the room, blanks out, then the boxes appear again, pauses, and then the film starts!

On the first watch the layer change was really noticable aswell, pauses and stutters, but I can`t find it again - could some one let me know where (time or chapter) the layer change takes place?

I`ve tried 2 X-Men discs, and also on a Daewoo player (mine is a Sharp 620, I took the Daewoo back after 4 months because of grainy pictures etc), on the Daewoo the menu worked perfectly.
