RE: asda dvd player mod. LEDVD0701SP to multiregion.

The site link below mentions another player as well as ASDA decks, so there are several suggestions that *might* work with your player:

RE: Technology challenged American bloke needs region hack for Samsung BD P1400

Hey there,

Sorry this is not the solution but region hacks for regular (non computer based) Blu Ray players are still pretty hard to come by.

You may find this page link below worth a read as it mentions your player at the top, even though the page is over a year old:

page about first multi region blu ray players appearing

There are some sites (and I`ve seen these on ebay as well) that can offer special remotes that can enable the playback of normal DVDs on blu ray players (so that means regular DVD playback can be made multiregion NOT overseas blu ray titles).

Sorry I can`t be of more help but hopefully more solutions will appear.

RE: Need region hack

If your Phillips dvdr5520h is already playing DVDs from other countries but in black and white then it is almost certainly the TV you are using that is the problem.

If a TV is not able to handle the USA picture signal which is called NTSC, then it will display any NTSC picture in black and white.

As your USA DVDs will have been made for NTSC systems in the USA, then you will need a TV that can display NTSC signals.

One other method that can sometimes work is trying different video channels on your television. If your television has different inputs (maybe one or more scart sockets or other signal/equipment connectors) then your remote control should have a button that allows you to flip between each one - a bit like switching over to the channel that you use for your current DVD watching.
If you do have a button on your remote like that, you can try pressing it to cycle through each of the different video signals to see if your TV has a channel that will display the picture in the correct coloured way.

However if your TV is not made to display NTSC as an option at all (the instruction book should tell you), then you will probably have to get another television that does.

NTSC compatible televisions are very common nowadays, but if it is an older TV, it may be a problem and you may just have to get another television set.

RE: Daewoo DPC-7600PDT region hack needed

Apparently this works on several Daewoo players, so it has to be worth a go:

1. Open the disc tray
2. Press the 1, 3, 7, 9
3. Press 0 for multi-region
4. Close the disc tray

RE: Change region on Audiovox D1998?

Most, if not all of the other Audiovox players can be changed using the following method. I also used a similar one on another brand of DVD player and found that after a couple of tries with it not working, I repeated the steps below but pressing the keys just a little bit more firmly and possibly a bit quicker than before and it worked, so maybe try that?:

1. Open the disc tray
2. Press SETUP
3. Go to the "Preferences" page
4. Enter 9, 6, 5, 3
5. Press 0 for multi-region
6. Press SETUP

RE: memorex mvd2045

This one below apparently works for quite a few of the Memorex models, so it has to be worth a go:

1. Open the disc tray
2. Press CLEAR
3. Press 1, 3, 6, 9
4. Enter region (0 = multi-region)
5. Close the disc tray
6. Power off

I`ve not tried it but it would be useful to others if you post below as to whether it works or not :)

RE: Philips DVDR3576H/37

The below technique apparently works for the Philips DVDR3570H and DVDR70, so it must be worth a go on your unit:

1. Turn on the player from the front panel (without a disc inserted)
2. Press TUNER or the blue button
* (or open the HDD browser)
3. Press PLAY
4. Enter 159 121 212 005 255
5. Press PLAY
6. Turn the player off

I haven`t tried this myself so obviously use at your own risk, but if you do try it post back here so the visitors to the site know if it works or not. And regarding your first sentence of your original post, yes if you are living in the USA and that is where you bought your player it will indeed almost certainly be region 1.

RE: philips pet730

This code is for the Philips PET724, so it has to be worth a try on your unit:

1. Open the disc tray
2. Press SETUP
3. Go to "Preferences"
4. Press OK
5. Press 212225
6. Press LEFT, DOWN
7. Enter region (0 = codefree)
8. Press SETUP
9. Close the disc tray

If that doesn`t help, you could try the one for the Philips DCP 750

1. Press SETUP
2. Go to the preferences page
3. Enter 9, 6, 5, 3
4. Select region
5. Press SETUP

I`ve not got these units or yours to try it myself, so use at your own risk, but posting on this thread to let others know if they work would be helpful :)

RE: Philips DVDR3576/37, Help*

The below technique apparently works for quite a lot of the Philips players and in particular the Philips DVDR3570H + Philips DVDR70 - so it must be worth trying for your unit:

1. Turn on the player from the front panel (without a disc inserted)
2. Press TUNER or the blue button
* (or open the HDD browser)
3. Press PLAY
4. Enter 159 121 212 005 255
5. Press PLAY
6. Turn the player off

I`ve not tried it so obviously use at your own risk, but it would be helpful to post below to let others know if it works or not :)

RE: Argos PVS3377 - Hack help please

I`ve heard a rumour that some of the Argos units share the same multi region hacks as some Wharfdale branded DVD players.
The hack below apparently works for some Wharfdale ones, so it has to be worth a shot for your Argos model:

Simply have the disc tray on your player open and press 0,1,2,3 on your DVD remote, the player is set to play multi region discs.

Be helpful for other site visitors if you post below if it works or not :)

RE: Wharfedale PDO8710 Region Hack Needed

This apparently works on some Wharfdale units, but I can`t guarantee it. Worth a go though:

Simply have the disc tray on your Wharfedale ejected and press 0,1,2,3 on your DVD remote, the player is set to play multi region discs.

RE: Soniq QMD80B Region unlock ?

This is a hack for an earlier SONIQ model (QMR500) so it is worth a try:

- Switch ON, no DVD inside
- Press SETUP
- Press STOP
- Press 730
then the screen shows 0 Multi Region.

I dont have one of these units to test it on so I make no guarantee that it works as described. Use at your own risk.

RE: Hack for Logik LOGPD1008

Have you tried the hack for the earlier model of this player (it might work)

Power on, Press open on the DVD player.
On the remote control press the SETUP button,
Press the right key on the remote 3 times (actually it`s 2 times on my machine),
The preference page will show up, press 9653,
Use the up and down key to select the Region,
Select 0 for all regions.

Proline P930W portable DVD region 0 hack here

Region code hack for the Proline P930W portable DVD player that I got from Comet in the UK.
(apparently this code method will also work with the Daewoo 7200, Audiovox D1500B and the Proline DVDP270W - and maybe others)

1) Open the DVD Door, on remote press Setup, Right, Right, Right (that`s the arrows in the middle of remote)
2) Enter 9653
3) Enter 0 Region all will be displayed

Note: You must press the buttons firmly

I have tried this on my Proline P930W that was region 2 originally and it definitely works :)
