RE: PLEASE PLEASE.. MINATO LIMITATIONS

John I`ve changed it a few times but just give it a go yourself if it
stops working take it back to Tesco and they will swap it this is
an undocumented feature, nowhere in the manual does it tell you
not to enter these key sequences and as long as its under
guarentee they should swap it or fix it. All the more reason to get
it over and done with while they still have some in stock.
I don`t know where you`ve picked up this rumour from but I could
quite easily say yeh I`ve done it more than 28 times and its fine
and sit back and wait for you to verify it for me.Lets start another
one it actually varies from machine to machine.

stay lucky

RE: MINATO G-1?

Also Warren I think Steve has mentioned in another thread
that the board inside this model is the same as inside one
of the wharfdales which I think will add the extra 40 quid
you mention. I`m glad I didn`t pay the extra money for a
wharfy knowing I could have brought the minato at the
cheaper price. I think what these models do is bring dvd`s
to people like myself who couldn`t give a monkeys chuff
how dynamic the picture contrast is on a particular scene
but are prepared to give dvd`s a shot for a fair price.
And know look at me I`m chatting on a DVD hack forum
defending consumer choice. All IMHO.

RE: MINATO G-1?

All part of the service.

I`ve just taken my week old Minato back to Tesco and swapped it.
I was getting a crackle similar to what you get on vinyl which was more
noticeable in quiter parts of the soundtrack this was both on the
scart output and the audio outputs. They swapped it no hassle
and the new one`s fine.

RE: MINATO G-1?

I`ve just read and tried the following on my minato.
open the tray enter 0111 and then enter the number
of the region you want. I don`t have any discs at the
moment to tell if it works but this number combination certainly
appears to do something different to other sequences.
Can you confirm this if you try it.
