RE: Philips DVDR77 or DVDR80?

I have just compared these 2 recorders and I`m going for the DVDR 77 as its got Progressive Scan for a more stable & sharper image(as I understand it) and also its got a PCMCIA card slot on the front for PC-Card digital camera card readers to transfer digital pictures on to a DVD.(limited I know but I have one for my laptop pc.).
They both have component video outputs as well.

This is the manual for the DVDR77

RE: LG3350e owners esp. Ittroll

Seeing as i started this thread i`ll give you an update. As i said i was doing, i took lg back to curry`s for their engineer to look at. Guess what? the "opening tray on start-up" (which it had been doing all week at home) didn`t manifest itself!!! As i know the guy i felt a bit stupid. He tried it several times, with and without scart lead in. He hadnt seen any faults on this model before and could only put it down to the fact it had reset itself when unplugged from mains.Although he couldn`t find a fault and it was six days since i bought it they let me have a refund. They did have some more 3350`s in stock but i thought i`d hold fire as i really did want a player with vcd playback and heard comet were selling off display 370`s, but i missed out on those, just missing out on the broadstairs branch one by one day, after asking for a week if theyd sell me it:-( Anyway i,m dvdless again and having withdrawal symptoms as my short relationship with the 3350 was bliss:-) What can I buy????any new models coming out(a replacement for 370 perhaps???)

RE: To Jimbo and ITTol

please can i have a vcd enabled lg3350 jimbo :-)) ta.
how much? when`s delivery? I`m just taking my 2 day old back to c*rrys cos of the "opening tray on power-up syndrome"

RE: Open and shut case of the Awia 370

i bought brand new lg 3350 on sunday & it does exactly the same.(both have same innards).
In my thread i too was told to return but lg 3350`s are as scarce as hens teeth as well & i wouldnt know what to replace it with if there were no more in stock. but i`m glad i didnt buy online.waiting weeks for delivery then the hassle of sending it back. i can take it straight back to curry`s.

RE: LG3350e owners esp. Ittroll

thanks for the replies guys.
no, ittroll it`s deffo not an ex-display, brand new, sealed in box.
yes jimbo thanks, I know about 28 days if faulty but i wasnt sure if theyd class it as fault so i was going for 7 days return policy if youre not satisfied which i know they do. i used to work for peasy world.

LG3350e owners esp. Ittroll

bought lg3350 sunday.every time i turn player on the tray comes out a couple of inches then goes back in.is this a fault or just a way of checking if theres a disk in? also in the black areas on 16:9 films shown on non-widescreen tv there are faint diagonal white lines similar to if the brightness is up to far but its not. if this is a faulty player i want to get it back to c*rrys b4 7 days is up, for refund.otherwise pleased with it esp. the picture & sound, but still wondering whether i should have got lecson as have just seen first negative views on lg 3350 on the "general" forum about private ryan & other disks.

lg3350 vcd update jimbo?

Jimbo, any more news on the vcd issue with the lg3350? I bought one sunday cos I couldnt get 370, and was dissapointed to read in the back of the manual that "this player does not play vcd (i knew that),cd-roms,cd-extra,cd-g,photo-cd or cd-i discs." I`m not too worried about the others (as I have dvd-rom in PC) but would have liked to have been able to access the cd-rom portion of discs such as the matrix.(or will it play those?)Also what about the video`s on cd-audio singles. Will enabling vcd (if & when) also enable any of these other formats? I`ve been following you & ittroll`s threads for a while now and it seems youre both the dogs balaerics when it comes to matters lg3550 or aiwa370.Many thanks

RE: Any info on Dabs.com or LG 3350e?

I bought my lg3350e in currys sunday. I know i paid over the odds, (£224.99, inc. staff discount) but at least I took it straight home and was using it within minutes!!!!!!!Also you can have buy now pay later. All you pay is 10% down and have 6 months to pay the balance (interest free). Tons better than the uncertainty of stock availability, weeks for delivery and worry of returns etc if you buy online.

RE: Anybody know where to buy an LG3350e?

My local curry`s has just had a new delivery. No Walking with Dinosaurs splash on the box anymore. My cash is burning a hole in my pocket but I`m waiting for some news from Jimbo on the VCD front before I take the plunge.I may have to buy a Lecson instead.
