Can you guys recommend me a good TV?

Hey

My Sony KV-28HX15U is driving me loco. I don`t enjoy looking at the picture anymore, instead I wait for the screen to go blue and focus on the red outline while I wait.

After Littlewoods sending the set back without really helping the problem, I`m going to try and get a replacement, only problem being that I can`t have a direct replacement anymore!

I don`t know anything about newer TVs. I only started using RGB cables last year when I finally moved from my 21" Beko, something which 99% of people have been doing many years before.!

Anyway... could you guys give me some advice about which TV to buy? I`m thinking about these ones...

1) Sony KDL-32S010U LCD
I rate Sony TVs highly. I know that my current TV offers excellent picture via RGB on the PS2/GC/DVD player. I`m hoping this TV offers the same excellent RGB support AND is good for HD.

2) Sony KDFE50A12U LCD rear projection
Let get this straight... 50", some excellent reviews, and it costs as much as the 32" TV above!? I must be missing something here. Would it be right for a PS2/GC gamer like me?

3) Panasonic TX32LXD60 LCD
I think this is the very same TV that the reviewers at animeondvd.com use, yeah? If so, I`m thinking this TV might just be good for me. The only worry I have is if it supports RGB as good as Sony TVs do...I`ve never used Panasonic before.

4) Samsung LE32R74BDX LCD
I feel fairly mixed about this TV. I`m sure it`ll be good for HD later this year, especially for the price it costs. But like I said above, I want something that`s both good for the future and good for using older consoles with, and with Samsung sets are said to have terrible RGB support...

If it helps at all, I only really want to use my TV for gaming and DVDs.

Thanks,

Dan

RE: Are DVDPacific the best place to buy R1 DVDs?

I picked up my order today. I had to pay £13 in customs, not that it bothered me too much.

I`m not very happy with DVDPacific. None of the seven thin-pack DVDs were sealed, some of the cases even had marks on the inside! The only thing sealed was the cover... I think they sent me 2nd-hand DVDs.

Can`t you ladies just agree to disagree? :p

Man, I hate waiting... I can`t wait to see what customs charge me for this lovely delay.

RE: Are DVDPacific the best place to buy R1 DVDs?

I`m not sure if DVDPacific mark down items or not. They marked down my first order, I didn`t even have to ask. Most people seem to think DVDPacific aren`t customs friendly... Maybe it was because it was my first order?

I hope customs hurry up and let me know how much I owe for this delay, that`s if they are busy playing football with it. =/

RE: Are DVDPacific the best place to buy R1 DVDs?

Shipped 2006-7-6 -- I`m still waiting for my order, hope I get something in the post today...

I`ll be very p***ed I have to chase DVDPacific over what is only my second order with them. I wouldn`t mind if it was just one DVD, but losing £57 won`t be very nice, especially not when my TV decided to f*** up a few days ago. :(

RE: Are DVDPacific the best place to buy R1 DVDs?

The only way I can see to stop the site keeping your details is to put in false information. Maybe I`m missing an option that lets you remove your default billing info? :¦

Unless my current order goes bye-bye, my only real complaint is how some items seem to stay on order forever. I think they need to clean up the site a little.

As long as my orders don`t start to disappear, I`ll be using DVDPacific lots in the future. =)

RE: Are DVDPacific the best place to buy R1 DVDs?

Hmm... I kinda assumed they were customs friendly since they marked it down.

I`m starting to hope that customs have got their claws into my second order. Paying around £20 extra I don`t mind, well not as much as losing £57 to a theiving postman anyway.

By the way, don`t they ask for money at the door when collecting customs charges? They did when my NTSC PS2 came about 6 months back.

Are DVDPacific the best place to buy R1 DVDs?

I`ve recently started to buy R1 anime DVDs, mostly boxsets. DVDPacific have the best prices that I`ve seen when it comes to the R1 DVDs I want, even when including P&P.

My first experience with DVDPacific couldn`t have been much better. I ordered a £28 (£35 with P&P) DVD boxset, it arrived in something like 4 or 5 days without any custom charges. Cheap, fast and helpful... If only every site was like DVDPacific.

As you can see, I`m full of praise for DVDPacfic after my first order with them, however... My second order still hasn`t arrived, although in all fairness it has only been a week since they shipped it. Still, I can`t help but to start to worry about losing £57 (damn me for asking for an invoice to be included)... What happens if your item doesn`t arrive when using International Priority Mail (IPA)? It doesn`t sound like they`ll do much if you contact them about it.
