RE: PROBLEMS WITH WWW.UNDER18.ORG.UK

I was most interested to read your posting regarding Under18(dis)org.uk. I ordered some discs from them earlier this year including a Leeds United disc. I was charged for all the discs and had to wait four weeks before receiving the (incomplete) order. Not only had they charged me for the discs before they had them ( the Leeds disc hadn`t even been pressed!) they ignored all my e-mails. When I eventually got someone on the phone number they said I would get a refund for the Leeds disc. I was most suprised when a refund was sent via a cheque an not put onto my credit card account. To make matters worse the cheque was made out to James and not Jamie. By now I was feeling a little bit arsey so I called again and was told by a woman to present the cheque to my bank as James is the same name as Jamie anyway, good job she didn`t Christen me! I then received an e-mail a week or so later telling me that they had changed their policy and were no longer charging customers for discs until they were ready for dispatch...seems they`ve forgotten about that one! AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Laservisual.com

I would like to thank the wonderful people at Laservisual for getting hold of the limited edition twin disc set of "Scars of Dracula" for me. I had ordered this with Amazon when this disc was first announced and was then informed by them that I`d have the disc between 22/8/-9/9/01. Imagine my suprise when I read on the dvdmaniacs.net forum that people had already got their copies. I was eager to purchase this edition because it also contained to promo vids recorded by Christopher Lee and my friend Gary Curtis. Laservisual come well recommended, buy with confidence.

PROLINE DVD1000 Auto-Select for R.C.E. discs!!

To convert this player to Multi-Region with R.C.E. playback

1.Open the disc tray.

2.Place a region one disc (Non R.C.E.) in the tray, But don`t close it.

3.Press the buttons 0,1,2 and then 3 on the remote control in this sequence, one at at time.

4.Press the "Play" button on the remote control, Let the disc play for a short while.

5.Eject the disc and load your R1-R.C.E. disc ( something like Hollow Man). The disc should then load and play perfectly.

The machine is now set to Multi-Region Auto-Select.

Bargains at Toys`R`Us, Harlow

I`ve just got the first four volumes of Stingray for £9.99 each instead of the £15.99 r.r.p. Thunderbirds volumes are also available at the same price.
They also had X-Men for £14.99 plus assorted Disney titles at cheap prices. I don`t know if this is a nationwide price or just at this branch.

Hammer Films on U.K. region 2....any news?

I would be most grateful if anyone has some more news regarding the U.K. release dates for "Curse of Frankenstein", "Dracula" and "The Mummy". They were on the advance release list in Dvd Review a few months back now they appear to have vanished.
Whilst on the subject the Anchor Bay Hammer releases seem to be changing to region 1, Does this mean we maybe getting more titles out on region 2 ?
It`s sad I know, But I`m really looking forward to adding these films to my collection....Please help!

RE: any experience with `under18.org.uk`?

Just received my order which I placed on 19/03/01. I had to send them an e-mail last week to find out what the delay was with shiping the discs (rather than them contacting me). They replied saying that one of the discs hadn`t been released and couldn`t get a date from the label concerned (despite having already charged the full amount to my credit card). They informed me that the other titles had been shipped together with a refund for the disc not yet released. The refund came by way of a cheque (despite the fact they should have refunded the amount to my card thus breaking terms of trading with the credit card company) but to make matters worse the cheque was made out with the wrong christian name.
JUST BEWARE!!!!

Hammer Films

Great news for all fans of the classic Hammer Films of years gone by.
According to the latest region 2 release schedual published in this month`s issue of DVD REVIEW this October will see the release of six great horror movies. These consist of "The curse of Frankenstein", "Dracula", "Dracula:Prince of darkness", "The Mummy", "She" and "The Devil rides out". The release date for all of these films is planned for 6th October with a projected retail price of £12.99 each.

RE: Encore Direct go completely bonkers - £5.99 DVDs : good uns too

Cheers clayts thanks for the tip, this has to be the best dvd offer yet!
As you said the titles on offer a good ones (for a change), Now if only more e-tailers would follow suit....

RE: Cannibal god

Just to let you know that I received my copy of the disc from Amazon last Tuesday without any problems. Judging from the D.Ent.website this is a recent release so this is probably the reason for your copy being delayed.

Cannibal god

Just a follow upto my question regarding "Mountain of the cannibal god", I found this film listed under an alternative title "Slave of the cannibal god" at Amazon .com at the bargain price of $14.94 including shipping.

RE: DVDBOXOFFICE anyone?

Although delivery times have gone up the spout just recently (due to Christmas/new year holidays plus industrial action by various Royal mail sorting offices) I must say I`ve always been happy with the level of service from Boxoffice...If only the same could be said for all companies.

RE: Dopey

Excluding some of the releases from Anchor Bay (U.S.A.) a lot of the region free dvd`s seem to be either low quality transfers i.e. "Custer of the west", porno titles or second rate tv-movies.

Cannibal god

Can anyone help me (I know I`m beyond help), I`m trying to get hold of the movie "Mountain of the cannibal god". The disc has been advertised on the Sazuma web site but they seem to be off line. I would be grateful if anyone can let me know of a reputable dealer selling this disc.
Thanks

Hammer Films

Now that the "carry-on" films are coming out together with some of the classic Ealing movies in the near future I think it`s about time somebody
released some of the superb titles in the Hammer films catalogue.
I know some of the rights belong to Warners (How about putting some out in their proposed mid price back-catalogue range) whilst others belong to Columbia/Sony pictures. If these companies are not interested how about a distribution deal with Anchor Bay ?
Just a thought...

RE: What are you guys actually thinking?

I totally agree with you Clayts, extra behind the scene documentaries are great on discs such as the " Bond" movies but not when it comes to some of the smaller titles. I mean how many times would you want to see how they made "Missing in action"....
More back catalogue titles at lower prices please.
