RE: Idiot`s Guide to DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, etc

Have exerienced same problem with the JVC DRM10s (some 10 months after original purchase). The problem was fixed FOC under the warranty (evidently a 7p resistor had to be changed).
When I collected my recorder the guy behind the counter advised that he had that day recieved yet another JVC DRM10s for repair with apparently the same defect. - It appears this problem is a latent defect with this model
