RE: SAMSUNG DVDR100E/XEU anyone got one of these?
Yeah i read that too before getting mine. I`ve only tried Verbatim DVD-R and DVD-RWs cos I can `borrow` them from work and i`ve had no problems. For day to day recordings I use the caddied dual sided Panasonic dvd-rams cos they`re much more durable (like minidiscs) and capable of the trick play stuff - I only use the dvd-r discs for movies i wanna keep.
RE: Samsung DVD-R100E
Does it really matter that much?! All I know is that the Samsung DVD-R100E shown on the tesco website is the same as the one I bought from them a couple of weeks ago and it`s also the same as the one on the samsung website. It records on DVD-ram/-rw/-r and I`m pretty sure it always has done!
RE: Samsung DVD-R100E
I`m fairly sure its losely based on the Panasonic E50 which actually came out before the E55. I`m really happy with the recorder, only having a slight issue where "AV2" logo keeps flashing in the top left hand corner when playing back recordings made from NTL (through the AV2 scart) - haven`t properly tested it yet but is anyone else having this issue?
RE: Samsung DVD-R100E
Just to confirm, the panasonic 9.4GB sided dvd-rams in caddys did work fine thanks.
RE: Panasonic DVD Recorder Owners Look In!
BTW, if you`re after 9.4GB DVD-Ram discs in caddys, the panasonic eshop is quite cheap. I`ve just got a pack of 3 for £14.99 plus £4 p+p

RE: Samsung DVD-R100E
Telboy, Thanks for your reply. The recorder arrived today and first impressions are very good. I`ve only got dvd-rw discs to play with at the moment so can`t try out timeslip playback etc. You say the panasonic ram discs work fine, did you try recording using them on the samsung or just playback? I`m looking at getting some 9.4GB DVD-RAM Double Sided discs in Caddys from the panasonic eshop, do you think these will be ok?
RE: Samsung DVD-R100E
Hi,
I`ve got one of these ordered from tescos. Wondered what make Ram discs you`re using? Heard it can be a bit picky with certain makes.
