SVCD on Encore 450 (Clayts?)

I have been trying to create some SVCDs from my DVcamcorder. They play OK on my PC using power DVD, but won`t play on the Encore without "jumping" across the screen. Has anyone been sucessful, do I need a particular encoder, I`m using the one built into pinnacle ?

Encore Direct - Bust ?

Have Encore Direct gone bust?

RE: ENCORE 450 - NO LONGER A TOASTER !!!

Have to agree with Movie-Lover, here.
My 450 is connected to 100hz 32 inch panasonic and all dark scenes are grainy and appear pixellated, The Matrix is pretty bad.
It isn`t as bad in Svid or Composite, but I really wanted to use RGB.

It has now stopped playing most dvd`s it either sticks on loading, or says "no disk". however if I press setup whilst loading for a minute and press set up again, it loads ok.
My mate has just bought a Sony (535 I think), so he is bring it around to compare. I`ll let you know.

RE: Encore 450 - Playback troubles

Thanks for the reply. I`ll try a new scart lead, and see what happens.
Have you tried Magnolia & Matrix ?
How were they ?

Cheers

RE: Encore 450 - Playback troubles

Initially had problems playing Matrix and Magnolia.
Encore changed the unit - excellent cust service.

However new machine does `pause` as it is playing (on this occasion Baby Geniuses)
The dark colours are still grainy on RGB, so I am using on S-video, and it is better.

Also the front circular control is loose, can`t remember if it was on the original, can anyone confirm ?
