RE: Best starter dvdr

Hi there, I work for Asda as a driver and I think you will find that they have stopped the 3 year guarantee, and now only offer 1 year. :(

matsui dvdr 100 connection

I am having trouble connecting this dvdr. I have now had replaced, my ntl analogue cable box with a Samsung smt-2100c digital one, hoping this would help but it doesn`t! what is the best way to connect it up? I can`t watch one channel while recording another, and if I put dvd on standby the tv screen goes blank. I have purchased different sorts of cables etc. and have tried them in every position, but no use so far. My tv is an older model Matsui 2107N with a single scart, but with none of those red yellow or white type sockets. Originally I connected the dvd in exactly the same way as my old Matsui vhs but this didn`t work either, why? My next step is either a hammer or I will return it to Currys, and go back to vhs. thanks

RE: Matsui DVDR100

HI dont know if you can help. I have the Matsui dvdr 100. obvious question I feel, but is it possible to watch one channel and record another, as I used to with vhs recorder? Also, when I put dvd on standby the tv goes blank, but will come back on if i turn it off and on a few times, or briefly take out scart, then put it back in. When dvd is on i can only change tv over by using dvd remote, if I use tv remote the screen only shows what the dvd is tuned to. The instruction book says to use tv remote when recording, but once again the screen only shows what is recording. I receive tv through ntl cable. The cable box has no scart socket. Is there a special scart lead for dvd recorders? I am using my old vhs one. The tv is a Matsui with just the one scart socket. Thanks
