Calling Nelley and other Scan users..

Nelley etc
Ok, here goes...
I got the Matrix over the weekend and noticed a strong pulsing and pixelation of the background. I currently have firmware version 146.
I have a few questions for you..
1.Will a firmware upgrade solve this problem
2.If not, will you replace my player with one that works..
3.Will you PLEASE honour you word and send me the correct new firmware version as you promised last week (after a said some nice things about your players).

If any one else can supply me with the upgrade I need I would VERY much apreciate it..

at the risk of receiving loads of crap, my address is
77pj_sirhc[at]moc.liamtoh

Please make a miserable sod happy..

PS Hands up if you think it would be a good idea to have the firmware available to download from the SCAN web site..

Scan firmware version??

I know this has been asked on a number of occasions but no one seems to be answering, so I`ll try again.

How do you determine what firmware version your scan player has?

I think mine might need a reflash but I dont want to do it just before Christmas and risk damaging the player unless I have to.

Can anyone please help..

Cheers in advance

Chris

RE: More positive SCAN news..

The disc in question is the region two version of Apocalypse Now. I swopped the disc and it still doesn`t work.
I recieved my player at the end of November so I`m not sure if I need a firmware upgrade or not...

As an asside - In light of my problems with Apocalypse Now, could you confirm whether the `Thing special addition` region 2 disc can be played before I go out and buy it, apparently this disc has been troublesome too...

Cheers for the help

Chris

More positive SCAN news..

I`ve read all of the threads relating to the Scan DVD player and can simpathise. I probably would not have brought my player if I had been aware of some of the problems.
I recieved my player about two weeks ago and from what I can gather, I think it is the latest varient. I have to say that for the price, its a great machine - Nice crisp picture, good sound quality ( even if it is a little quiet at times).

Here it comes....

I do however have a few problems - As well as the MP3 playback being stubborn at times, the player refuses to display the menus or extras on the `Apocalypse Now` disc. Apparently this can happen with a number of discs. I have informed scan and they assure me that there will be a firmware upgrate `just after Christmas`. If so, how does this work? Do I return my player and get a new one?? Or do they reflash my existing player? Here`s hoping they stand by their work and make a good player even better..
