ipod video for £157, 15% discounts, via egg card

if you are brave enough to use dixons (be warned i cancelled my order and they still sent it!) egg give 10% instant cashback until end of july for any dixons purchase

add to that the 5% dixons codes available eg nhs192 or YAW271, gives you £27.50 off of an ipod video or other mp3 player, or well actually anything!

i used it for the ipod but then changed my mind and went for the zen vision:m which dixons don`t have in stock.

RE: Free DVD recorder and money off with any LCD TV at Amazon.

btw, it`s £135 as opposed to the OP`s £130 as the DVD recorder went up by around £5 shortly after the OP`s post

RE: Pro Evolution Soccer 5 - £14.99 at HMV & free p&p

i don`t think you will get an email if you only ordered one. your order should go through ok without them saying anything.

RE: WOW HOT ITEM --HURRY . Free Fan Heater .....Free Fan Heater..... Free Fan Heater..

did anyone get any type of confirmation when they ordered? on the web page or by email?

i didn`t. it just returned to home page. not sure if mine went through, though by the way it`s gone i think it would be better if it didn`t..

RE: Which printer to buy?

a canon, any canon; cheapest original or 3rd party refills, excellent photo (mostly borderless) prints, great machine build and very good design.

canon`s are by far the best printers ive used and i have used several epsons (my previous favourite), an all-in-one lexmark (terrible) and have experience of a hp (too expensive)

go for the canon, you wont regret it.

RE: Network ready all-in-one printer - £88 + deliv.

depending on your printer make and model, some replacements (3rd party) are so cheap, why bother with refilling?

but if it is a HP/ lexmark/ dell i can understand you trying. can be messy and not always work properly, avoid if you can but if you cant give it a try: either a DIY refill kit as in tesco or a refill station in computer etc store

RE: Network ready all-in-one printer - £88 + deliv.

any canon printer that uses BCI24C and BCI24BK or 21 range (and alot do) have replacment carts everywhere, for around £1 or cheaper.

some of their newer printers have carts a little more expensive but only £1/2 each.

check out which canon you like first (they are IMO the best printers/ all-in-ones you can get) and then google the carts or use pricerunner etc. ebuyer is also a great place for carts. canon are the cheapest to run and maintain.

HP- ink way too expensive, avoid (they make 70% or so revenue from ink)
Lexmark- avoid printers and ink at all costs, like the plague
Epson- not bad on the whole, chipped carts rip you off, printers are good
Canon- best ink prices for original or replacement, best printers in every respect

RE: ALDI Tevion DVD Recorder on sale 28/4

anyone have experience of this model? i know aldi have had a few in the past, is this a rebadged version of another recorder?

RE: Canon PIXMA iP1000 Colour Photo Printer £ 32.99

agree with powerlord, i have the canon mp370, similar to mp360

it is the best printer (all ion one) ive ever seen or used, recommended to many people since ive had it, everyone has been impressed

ive had epsons (not bad overall other than those cheating chipped ink carts), a lexmark (terrible), used a HP (too expensive for ink), but Canon are by far the best. not one complaint with my all in one.

the ink carts are very cheap too

this printer from e buyer is the lowest in the range, but uses same carts (BCI24BK and BCI24C about £1 each) as a number of canons printers, this particular one doesn`t print borderless photos on a4 paper but the next one up in range does, so see what you need, and pick the best canon for you

they seriously are the best printers you can get!

RE: Great T-Mobile Offer

Ordered a Nokia 6630 yesterday at 11am, received email pm, phone today.

Thanks to the OP.

just out of interest, how much was this offer, with the 6630?

RE: A good value laptop???? Any suggestions????

well to go back to and answer the original poster` question, i would go for something like the dell inspiron 1000.

ive had 2 previous dell desktops, no hardware probs (plenty of OS probs).

the highest in the inspiron range was £633 with 3yr warranty, but after a bit of haggling i got it down to £603 and with an upgrade to the li-ion battery

RE: aldi PC 5.1 Surround Sound System

got one set this morning, very nice, although each small speaker uses rca type cable connection to the sub and then the sub has 3 lots of rca (white/ red) connectors to 3.5mm jacks for use on the sound card.

after unpacking it, i found out my sound card does not support 5.1 and i now need to change that. it`s very nice though and on the test i have been able to do, with 2 of the 6 speakers (6 inc sub) at any one time, the sound appears very crisp and clear.

the individual speakers are extremely thin and very stylish, well worth the £24.99

aldi PC 5.1 Surround Sound System

any thoughts on the speaker set from aldi, coming thurs (£24.99)?

anyone know if it is any good, or have any experience of other tevion sounds systems?

RE: Dell Dimension 2400 PC for only £106.56 (no monitor)

interesting how the first deal started at around £100 and those found since have got progressively more expensive, not that they`re not still great value, but maybe dell don`t mind a bit of this building interest in their site, i mean ive felt the urge to get out the credit card when the 1024 ram system (£235) worked on their site, even though i didn`t really need it and nor would i ever make use of that much ram power.

if they got rid of the no monitor option for those found earlier they could easily have stopped all systems on their site from allowing this `loophole`
