RE: Alien Head DVD Collection £99.99

used voucher code RZ8076 to get £15 off (orders over £80) :D

RE: Monsters Inc £2.99 at Richer Sounds (yes really) - free P&P

Having just received the same email as those above and had same confirmations on the same dates as Robert, I was just wondering when those people who have had their orders filled placed their orders. I placed mine on Sunday afternoon, so 4 working days seems a long time to take to cancel an order.

RE: 100 DVD+/-Rs for £19.98 delivered at Amazon

Yep, for 100 disks £20.96 or 21p per disk. However, UKDVDR are a good supplier.
I ordered on Wednesday this week at about 10am, had my order 8am next day.
(Guaranteed next day delivery or it`s free)
Datawrite, good name in DVD-Rs.
Grade A disk, don`t see the word budget anywhere.
Every order also gets a freebie of 4 Datawrite pens worth £1.49 (till tonight).

I ordered 10 packs (some for me, some for friends and some for people i know who i can sell onto at a profit ;) )
As i said i have had no failures with these disk in the past.
So thats 16.75p per disk and some pens i can sell for 50p each.

Amazon disks, Hi-Space, who?
4 reviews, 2 of whom only give them 1 star. And another said to burn at x2 for best results.
Delivery "Availability: usually dispatched within 4 to 6 weeks."
20p per disk with no failures.
5% fail = 21p per disk, and so on.

So after i sell some on, 5 packs say, the cost to me is 14p per disk inc. delivery.
I`m happy with that :D

RE: 100 DVD+/-Rs for £19.98 delivered at Amazon

As wayne3765 said above UKDVDR have some "BUDGET 4x Yellow DVD-R 100 Pack" at £12.99 plus delivery.

They now have some V3 Datawrite Red Top 4x 4.7GB DVD-R 25 pack for £3.49 ( inc VAT ) (£13.96 for 100) plus delivery.

I have used these disks many times and not had a single problem. So if you`re happy with 4x, they could be a good buy. It also says in the details, "This disc has been tested at up to 8 speed with amazing results".

RE: DVD Rental sites...which one?

Hi,

Try this site for some help
http://www.dvdtrials.co.uk/The_News/Articles/DVD_rental_complete_list/

I am using Lovefilm at the moment. They are about the 4th or 5th site i have used and i have found them to be very good. Fast turnaround, no bad disks and titles from the top of my list.

Use code FR25 for a one month trial.

RE: Philips DVDR610 Fan Cure

Had a call from Philips yesterday re a problem i had about a month ago and which had been sorted with an exchange at Sainsbury's. However, i did ask about the fan, wasn`t told anything about the ECO mode but was told some new software is out next week which will make the 610 quieter - but not fix. It will still run whenever a video signal passes through.

RE: Philips DVDR610 funnies

Hi all

On my second 610. The first would not work out of the box. It would just come up with an error code on start-up and would not reset using the instructions in the Troubleshooting section of the manual.

Got a swap from Sainsbury`s (new receipt has new price of £229.99 which was about 10 days after the first post in the Bargain Buckets forum).
Anyway, this one set up fine but have started to find some bugs.

First, i assume my fan is working ok. Stopped when draw is open, slow when in standby, and fast when in use. Correct?

Second, have found it wont play some films. Italian Job and Runaway Jury just wont play. My boys love the car chase in the Italian Job so i tried to copy just the film, no menus or extras to a DVD-R and that works fine.

and Third, over the last couple of days it has started to switch itself off.
First time was watching a film and the last three or four while recording. It did not seem hot and there was no use of other remote controls at that time.
It will also switch off when recording at any point from 15 second to 15 minutes into the recording. All recordings when it switched off were manual (have not tried timed recordings yet).
Has not switched off yet when using manual recording with the auto turn-off (pressing the record button again for 30 minutes etc.)
