RE: HELP PLEASE!!! PS2, REGION X AND PLAYING R1 DISCS

Mike

It is the RGB socket that i am using on the tv - but still comes out B&W!! Should i return the hmv brand and buy a better quality scart lead or is it my tv that is causing the problem? If my tv is not NTSC compatible will a better quality RGB Scart give me a coloured picture?

HELP PLEASE!!! PS2, REGION X AND PLAYING R1 DISCS

I have just purchased a PS2, mainly as a games console, but as i already own a multiregion dvd player i though it would be useful to buy the region X so that i can use the PS2 as a back up/second dvd player.
I have also bought that RGB Scart lead (HMV`s own brand), which i was told would improve picture quality especially when playing R1 dvds.

Unfortunetly when i play R1 discs on the PS2 the picture still comes out in B&W! I am using the same tv as i use for my multiregion player - so i know that the tv can play ntsc discs!! But why not on the PS2???

Any help or assistance would be most grateful

thanks
Rob

How do u make a PS 2 multiregion?

I am thinking of buying a PS2 mainly as a games consol, but as i already have a mutiregion DVD player with all different region coded DVDs it would be useful to make the PS2 multiregion DVD player too.

How do i make it multiregion? Do i require a DVD region X? If so how much are they and where do i get them from?

Wharfedale 750 & Terminator 2 (R1) Ultimate Edition

I have just purchased the above disc but unfortuntely i cannot get the Easter Egg for the Ultimate Edition to work. Supposedly by imputting 82997 at the menu section on disc 1 it should allow you to watch the ultimate edition!!! Unfortuntley on the Wharfie this is not the case!!! Nothing seems to happen at all!!

Does anyone know how i can get around this problem with the Wharfedale 750?

Any help will be most appreciated

Cheers

First Generation Wharfedale 750 and the Tesco upgrade (NOT 750S)

I complained to Tesco a month ago when Gladiator R2 Special Features disc, along with Jaws R2, and Toy Story Collectors Pack features disc would not work on the 750.

I have the first generation 750, and have had no problems with any R1 discs, just R2. Tesco have advised that they have an upgrade (a chip) to solve my R2 problems, but i am concerned this will effect my players ability to play R1 discs. I have also heard of problems with the 750S and R1 dics, where there is a jittery picture!!! Is this chip used for the 750S that is the question?

Does anyone have the original 750 and had the upgrade? If so was there any problems with the ability to play R1 discs after the upgrade? Also will this now allow the 750 to play R1 RCE discs?

Thanks

Multi-Region Hack for the Sharp DV600H - is there one?

I have tried without any success to find a hack for the Sharp DV600H. Would be most appreciated if anyone new of one which may work.

Thanks

Wharfedale 750 & Gladiator R2

I have the original 750 player. I have the multi region code in place and have had no problems with my player apart from R2 Jaws. However just bought R2 Gladiator and the Special Features Disc does not work!
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so how did you overcome this problem?
Also has anyone had their machine upgraded with the special chip from Tesco- if so any problems? Were you still able to play R1 discs?

Thanks
Robin Adamson
