RE: Help...what Freeview set-top box to get??
If it`s any help. I have a Daewoo freeview box and it works very well even on my loft aerial.
But the most important piece of advice is: don`t talk to the guy in Currys !!

Very true ! and I wouldn`t want you all to miss my anagrams.
Compacks 101 not for me.
After 7 days I have decided the 101 is not for me, and Woolies have agreed a refund
on Thursday. I will not need to make use of this fine Forum again, it`s been fun.
Good luck and Regards to you all.
Roy.

Yes you`re right of course. Should have been:

RE: using a dvd recorder as a music audio only recorder
Yes, silly me. I stand corrected. I must have typed before my brain was in gear !!
RE: using a dvd recorder as a music audio only recorder
I want to do the same thing. when I feed audio into the DVD recorder it says no signal,
so I think the answer might be to feed in the audio you want together with any old video signal, then use the resulting disc in a cd player.
I`ll check it out later today.

A WOOLIES DVD RECORDER = WE LOVE ODD DISC ERRORS
RE: compacks
Hello boro1616.
I bought a 101 last week and am busy putting years of old family VHS clips onto disc. The
VCR is at one end of the house and the DVD recorder at the other side so for the time being
I`m useing RF to transfer the signal. Results are pretty good. I have TV OUT on my PC
and I am making colourful captions to preceed the clips. Good fun for 130 quid !!
Hope this helps a bit, trev.
Compacks DVD 101
I bought the DVD 101 on price, the Woolies £129.95. Both pleased and not so pleased.
#1 Pleased with the overall machine, much better than tapes.
#2 As well as broadcast channels I have Satellite, Freeview , and a Digibox and I found the
best way to tune these in through RF with the 101 is to access the "fine tune" setup and
tune each channel. Plenty of websites give UHF transmitter freq`s, one I found is:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/terrestrial/tuning/
This info makes tunning your local channels easy.
#3 A bad point seems to be that I can`t pause while recording something, to edit bits
out, then resume.
#4 Another bad point is that the machine appears not to be able to record music onto
CDR`s or CDRW`s.BUT this might be me not doing it right.
#5 I`m sure to think of something else......
