RE: Bush Digital TV for 49p

Strangely enough, I received the above email too, even though the Argos or Homebase site wouldn`t accept my Visa Electron....

RE: free budget headset

update

i`m happy to report, one month after updating the firmware from v21 to v25, no switching to ext2 and the clock has kept the right time, so i can confirm the update is worth getting (if you haven`t already).

RE: Suberb Sub Speakers @ Ebuyer - £7.99 + Free Shipping

seriously, for £8 these are *great* - postage alone must cost a fiver...

RE: Philips DVDR610 troubles

thanks almac, that did the trick!

i updated the firmware with v25 (was previously v21) a couple of days ago and have managed to get through 3 full length movies without the 610 switching to ext2 and the clock has kept the right time too... its early days but this may be the fix everyones been waiting for.

RE: Can anyone give me some advise on DVD recorders

one thing to say: DON`T BUY A PHILLIPS!!!

RE: Philips DVDR610 troubles

heres a new problem i discovered. i have a +rw disc that had been burnt in nero and erased. put it in the 610 and it comes up as `unrecognisable data`. looked in the manual to find out how to make it usable again, and it directs me to system>preferences>disc menu. when i get to the disc menu, the options are `adapt menu & delete all`. the problem is that both these options are not selectable, they seem to be ghosted out. anyone got any suggestions??

i also agree with the previous poster, these recorders are w***. could have bought a cheapo 99 quid mico from sainsburys but thought nah, stick with a known brand, won`t have any problems then. yeah right.

RE: Philips DVDR610 troubles

when playing back a disc (either recorded on the machine or an original dvd), playback is sometimes interrupted by the machine switching over to whatevers on my freeview box (connected to ext 2), i then have to press the tv/dvd button on the bottom right of the remote to get back to the movie. this can sometimes happen 3 or 4 times during playback. has anyone else encountered this problem?

RE: Philips 610 DVD Recorder for £99.99

£177.00 including delivery from ebuyer. not a bad machine but sound output is a bit crummy and watch out for the `30minute timer jump` problem. still no fix for it as of yet.

The Dark Tower VII - Stephen King *HALF PRICE*

released on tuesday 21st rrp £25, ASDA will be selling it for £12.50 and they are first edition copies.

RE: Dual Layer Pioneer 70 quid

but have you seen the price of the blanks? nearly a tenner each!

RE: Goodmans Plasma 42 inch £1499

dont spend 1500 on a goodmans, it wont last 5 minutes.

richer sounds are doing a Daewoo DP42, 42" plasma for the same price. why not check that out first?

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

anyone who bought the 32" tosh 32w33b and 230e dvd player package noticed any problems with the tv`s brightness dimming, then going back to normal? or when watching dvd`s with explosions/bright flashes in them, having the screen "jump & roll"?

only had it a fortnight, with minimal use...

RE: Very cheap TV`s going fast

hechizero, mine just arrived today, and the box is huge! weighs 50kg too so i guess u gonna have to unpack it, but its a massive telly anyway. good luck!

just have to say a big THANKS to whoever started this thread off and brought my attention to the skybuy site, as i`d never heard of it before. i got great service too, ordered the tosh 32" tv/dvd package for 259.00 last thursday, and it was delivered at lunch today. never got a delivery confirmation phone call but luckily i was in.
