RE: Long discs sticking on the Medion MD40288

For my Cyberhome 528 it was a firmware problem - found at www.cyberhome-help.de

Also advised not to upgrade the firmware as this has other bugs built in. Considering the Cyberhome 400 from WH Smiths if it can play the compressed disks.

Almost certainly your TV is not NTSC compatable - you might need to buy a newer one.

Compressed DVDs - Multiple Films

I have been advised that the answer to my previous post was due to the version of the firmware used. I have been thinking of buying a new machine for some time, so, this could be the impetus to do so. It MUST be multi-region of course as well as DVD-R and DVD+R compatable and be able to play compressed DVDs (i.e. those that have multiple films on one DVD5). (S)VCD playback not a priority but would be nice. Recommendations please (basic machine, not costly)

Cyberhome ADL-528 - Compressed DVDs

Have just received some dvds that have approx. 4 hours on a DVD5 (I think they are DVD+R). On the TV the display is is squashed into the top third of the screen. I`ve tried the disks on a PS2 with region X and they play okay. Any advice or help appreciated
