RE: I need movie help, ive only got the plot no actors names, HELP!!

Hi everyone

Ive found it, its called MY LIFE with Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman. He has terminal cancer and makes videos for his unborn son, Im really really hoping this is the film as I have ordered it from Play, mind u it was only £6.

If its not the film I was thinking of, would anyone be interested in buying it?

Ill keep you posted when it arrives.

Kind regards

Caz

I need movie help, ive only got the plot no actors names, HELP!!

Hi

Ive been sat watching Philadelphia tonight with Tom Hanks and it made me think back to a film Id seen ages ago which was along similar lines.

Now the film is either to do with someone (male I think) who is dying of aids or cancer, and ends being treated at home in a hospital bed with a nurse. The film is also based in America. I can picture the film but not the person in the bed or what the film is called. They end up dying at home.

It is really bugging me, Im sorry I cant give more information, thats all I can remember.

Any ideas of the name of the film, pretty please, would make a young lady very happy.

Merry Xmas

Kind regards

Caz

RE: Bench DVD Player KH 5777 (could be 6777) Advertised By Lidl for £37.99

Hi XYZ

Yes I understand what your saying, I havent tried any other DVD players apart from my Goodmans and I wouldnt have said that was a brilliant DVD player for £150.

Im happy with it and it plays what I need it too, so for me its great.

I havent got the money to go out and pay £300 for a Sony or Panasonic machine, and as this one does what it needs too for us, Im happy.

We watched Terminator on it the other night and as with Top Gun, it has a lot of background sound and it sounded great, even my hubster was seriously impressed.

Anyway each to their own, if you have got a spare top range DVD player for us to try, Ill be willing to try it for u.

Have a nice Xmas

Kind regards

RE: HELP! need to get a hack for a Bench KH6777 dvd player

Hi Lezer

When you do the hack that Helene suggested, the details that comes up in the screen says Macrovision On/Off, VCD On/OFF and the option of changing the Regions (ie Region 9 for multiregional).

I havent tried the Macrovision hack as we dont have a video recorder downstairs, but as far as I am aware it does work.

Also see this link for more details on this smart little DVD player, its in the Hardware Forum Section of this site:-

Hope this helps

RE: Bench DVD Player KH 5777 (could be 6777) Advertised By Lidl for £37.99

Hi xyz1001

I followed my own instructions and went to the site I put on this site and they have moved their region coding details, but when I checked the day before these DVD players went onto sale, it was there.

I am very very happy with my new player, the other DVD player I had was a Goodmans DVD3000 and that played naff all apart from DVs and CDs, wouldnt play VCDs or CDrs etc. It was region free though so i could watch my Region 1 films, but that was about as much as it did.

This new Lidl one, played my jpegs from disk, a VCD, Region 1 films (after I did the hack), and the sound is excellent through our Creative Desktop Theatre DTT2200 5.1 System.

I like the idea that the volume can be changed using the remote conmtrol, before with my Goodmans one I had to get up to change the volume on the desktop theatre, which was a pain say if the phone rang.

All in all I am very happy with this DVD player, all I can say to the other people who are unhappy is to take their backs and get another one or a refund.

Kind regards

RE: Bench DVD Player KH 5777 (could be 6777) Advertised By Lidl for £37.99

Hiya

Well Im a happy bunny, I got to Lidl at 8.15am and was the first one there, so I thought well at least Ill get one, stood there flaming freezing until 9am, but by that time, there was a few people there, but luckily our Lidl had about 50 or 60 in stock, of both colours.

Anyway got it home, tried a VCD in it, worked fine, then hacked it, again tried The Omen (Region 1), worked fine and in colour, so the prob about black and white above is to do with the TV.

So Im happy bunny, cos this DVD player comes with a 3 year warranty too.

Kind regards

RE: Bench DVD Player KH 5777 (could be 6777) Advertised By Lidl for £37.99

Hi Mark

Quote:
* Is it any good?
* Is it region hackable? if so does anyone have the hack (couldn`t find any info)
* Will it play movies straight from Mpg rather than convert to VCD?

In answer to your questions:-

Point 1 - I dont know whether its any good or not, Im planning on queueing up for one myself tomorrow. If it isnt any good it will be going back.
Point 2 - Yes i is remote hakcabale, I managed to find the info via Google and used its translator tool to translate from German to English and it showed me a site which was also in German. The site is www.kompernass.com/display.html?section=support&subsection=faq&product=190&lang=en, the instructions to convert the DVD to region free is in English.

These are the instructions that are on the page.

You can change the country code setting of the DVD Player E-Bench KH 6777 by following the below steps:

1. Power on
2. open door
3. press no. 2812
4. a special menu pop up
5. 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2....9 for all region.

Point 3 - I dont know, but this is a link to the PDF manual for the DVD player, so maybe it will tell you in there www.kompernass.com/product_pdfs/28b906d8cfd4775559d9b83c2b7576bd_4.pdf

Hope this helps, and good luck in the queue tomorrow, Im gonna be at my local Lidl store at 8am to hopefully guarantee me one, fingers crossed.

Kind regards

Caz
