RE: Wharfedale DVD 750 - Not?!?!

My region problem is solved - one R4 disk would not play, but any others would R1/R3, etc. I eventually accessed the regional settings, changed it, played it :)

So as I said, problem sorted

RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.

Should be region free straight out the box actually, just like my two RDR-GX7`s

RE: GOODMANS 2150 region needed please...

Here you are:

Open tray and wait 10 seconds

Press 2, 1, 6 and 8

Change region via menu using the Enter button, 9 represents muliregion

Close tray

If it`s not co-operating then try:

Empty DVD tray

Using the remote control, press Setup

Type 1,3,6,9

The current Region Code is displayed

Press Up and Down keys to change

Change to 0

Exit by pressing Enter

Exit Setup by pressing Setup

RE: Wharfedale DVD 760 hack?

The old models are not manufactured by the same people, Wharfedale, in their infinite wisdom, changed Suppliers (whom in turn used different chipsets). :/

You can use the following:

2812 <ENTER>
You will end up in the firmware setup screen, which you can then use to change region to 13 (all) and on the next screen disable Macrovison (which you must do everytime as it`s not permanent, only per use)

RE: Wharfedale DVD 750 - Not?!?!

Sorted! 8) 8) 8)

Anyone need help?

Yeah, I`m cocky - but you`re ugly!

RE: Wharfedale DVD50ST

You want to email a pic of your unit & I will get the "hack" for you..... There were a couple of manufacturers that Wharfedale contracted to make their DVD players for them.....or try 2918(ENTER) / 2812(ENTER) / 77(ENTER)....there are a couple more

RE: Wharfdale M3 Hack

Go to setup and change the output to Auto (Region1=NTSC)
Region 2=PalB/G

I know you do have a multi-system tv....don`t you?

RE: Looking For A DVD Recorder Any Suggestions

The only choice is the Sony RDR-GRX7

I was so happy/impressed with them I bought two!

Hmm, you may like the fact that they write both media which is one of the only systems that can and you can not do TOC on +RW disks

A lot of people will argue with me but nothing will change my mind - not a 120GB HDD (I love DVD-RAM too by the way but you lock yourself into a niche tech there).

Sony - The only way to Record to DVD-+R/RW.....

Oh yeah - they are Multi -Region out the box too.

Wharfedale DVD 750 - Not?!?!

I have a DVD 750 Wharfedale (silver), bought just over a year ago (from the agents, HI-FI Corporation (they`re a joke) but I can`t find out what/who manufactured it; if it is a clone of another brand (ie Sampo) as the Wharfedale 750(1st & 2nd & 750s) from the Wharfedale website is no way like this one.

Being that I am in South Africa, one can understand some localisation but this is ludicrous - can anyone help?

the serial # on the unit is:

M2-0xxxxxxxxx

It has built-in DTS, etc as well as two microphone inputs with gain controls above them on the left hand side of the display (for Karaoke use), supports MP3/VCD....

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks
