If you unplug the the cable to front audio ports from the motherboard then usually you need to jumper certain pins on that motherboard connector to enable the on-board rear ports. You really do need the motherboard manual to check which pins you should jumper

MS Word generates a temporary file with a ~ prefix when you open a document. The file is deleted when you close the document.

Tom`s absolutely correct, a standard usb hub won`t do. What you need is a usb switch. Belkin are a popular make of such devices.

On the back of your Maxtor drive is a jumper position that will default the
drive to a maximum of 32GB - set this jumper & your BIOS should see the drive
