RE: do i need a reciever?

yes sorry i stand corrected :) but what i`m really trying to say is would i be better off going for a standard dvd player and reciever to decode dts and dd signals than keeping my original amp and getting the dvp-ns905vs ????

RE: DVD player that play`s every thing

i have the speakers yes but the amp i have is only dolby prologic but with a 6 channel input/output so it can amplify the signal but not decode it

do i need a reciever?

i will be linking my new dvd into a yamaha dsp a592 amp which has dolby prologic, the dvd i am thinking of getting is the dvp-ns905vs which has a built in dolby digital and dts decoder.
would the above be sufficient or would i be better off goin for a new reciever.
the amp mentioned has a six channel output which i would be running the dvd through.
any advice would be welcome :)

RE: DVD player that play`s every thing

is it in your opinion worth the extra cash over the dvpns705vs?
and is dts much better than dolby digital 5.1??

DVD player that play`s every thing

i`ve been looking at the sony dvp-ns905vs as i would like one with a built in dts decoder but will this player run dvd-r/rx, dvd+r/rw and what ever else is available???
