I am so pleased weith this unit for the price i paid , £49.99 with warranty.It plays anything and everything i have tried,
Having been a total devotee to philips for so long i was getting a little tunnel vision, But i needed a second player for the spare bedroom and someone suggested this little beauty. Its fantastic, Multiregion hack was i piece of p***, the manufacturers basically tell you how to in the manual..picture and sound are good quality.
BUT
Here is my little dilema , i need find out how to switch off the macro..????????????
Please can anyone tell me, this would make this the best budget player in the world. .

DONNIE DARKO

Mydvdr 880 plays all disc i have tried except one, That one is DONNIE DARKO , i bought it from Tesco about 4 weeks ago but only got round to watching it last night, it failed to play and on closer inspection there were a few scratches on the disc so it was returned and exchanged for a brand new sealed undamaged copy, but alas this also fails to be recognised buy the player . The 880 doesnt seem to recognise the disc.it does try to read it but fails and display shows `NO DISC` , every other disc i have works fine , even the new ones i have never watched before., Please somebody tell me i am not insane, The only difference i can san see on the outer cover is that the donnie darko dvd have a macrovision symbol on the back, but i thought most discs had macro nowadays.

dvdr 880 play problems

Hi,
I have tried the mutliregion hack play 121 212 005 255 play , with no success , infact i have introduced a more concerning problem. The recorder will no longer recognise or play back normal discs, it will play back Dvdr and dvdrw but when i try to play . A normal region 1 or 2 disc the display shows the `NO DISC` message ....
please help. i have only had the thing since christmas and would be thankful of any help anyone can offer....

Problem with philips 762

After watching about 35min of training day, the picture froze and the dvd player stopped responding .i found i couldn`t open the drawer but after down powering the unit the disc wil still not play.

After powring down for about 30 mins and retrying the open/ close button as it powers up the drawer opens.
I retry the disc and it plays but only for a short while.
I thought this was a badly pressed disc until it happened with lotr.
Please help .
i have had a look inside the unit and cleaned the lens with isopropel alcohol(recommended by philips) but no help
maybe a firmware upgrade would help.
any ideas....

HELP WITH HACKING A PHILIPS DVDR 880

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have tried the multi region hacks for my new dvdr880 with no success.
The omniremote rc6 or the one4all remote wouldn`t bring up the input screen .
The play 159 code seemed to work but the unit still will not play my R1 discs or rce.....

Have Philips altered the firmware or something. ????


Any help would be appreciated.....
